IOSPIRIT (ANF)

IOSPIRIT: Calibration targets for fxSCAN 4.0 and ICS
Scan like the props! You can now order professional calibration targets at a very low and attractive price that give you best scanning results when used together with ICS and fxSCAN 4.0.

And its easy to use, too! Just scan the target with your scanner and let ICS create a profile out of the result. From now on, you can automatically reach best and optimized results by selecting the ICS-filter in fxSCAN! The results are very close to the original template and mostly can't even be distinguished from it!

  • Meets the IT 8.7/2 and ISO 12641 standard requirements.
  • High color volume.
  • Printed on high-quality Kodak(R) Professional paper.
  • Meets the error tolerances required by the standard. Addmissible tolerance is 5 dE for reference files and 2 dE from CIE Lab for single measured targets. This target reaches an average of 0,3 dE in production!!
  • additional reference files for scanners with light picture background. The standard only requires reference files for black background.
  • also recommended for owners of older targets that may contain color errors after years!
(ps)

Tool: FSwatcher v1.5
An update of FSwatcher is now available. This update fixes a bug and a new AutoSize option was added. More details:

History v1.5 (26.05.02):
CHG: If you set 'Com=Command' to "" (empty string),
then no action button (named "!") will be created.
[suggested by Todd A. Oberly]

(23.05.02):
CHG: The value after "time: " now shows the time
since starting the download! Previously the
time when the file was last modified has been
used.

FIX: The "time: " value now also takes care of the
days part of the time, f.e. if a download
started before 00:00 o'clock, the time
was negative.

NEW: Added the magic-stackcookie, to ensure that
it get at least 16K of Stacksize! Shell
v45.6+ is needed for this!

NEW: There a now 2 executables in the archive,
one has a "_NoGuru" appended. This is like
the previous, it shouldn't cause a guru
if an error occured.
The other (w/o the suffix) has some checks
disabled, which reduces the filesize about
3000 Bytes and may cause gurus if an error
occured! The version string tells you which
version you have.

CHG: Removed shell arg SM=SizeMode, replaced by
AutoSize/T

NEW: New shell arg AS=AutoSize/T
If used (AutoSize = YES), the current size,
the filesize and the bps are shown in B
(=Bytes), if the size is < 1024 Bytes,
in KB, if the size is >= 1024 Bytes and in
MB, if the size is >= 1048576 Bytes!

CHG: Changed the gauge infotext a little bit.

CHG: Remove the alias EXIT for AUTOEXIT, it was
only introduced to use with AmiSat, till
AmiSat required FSwatcher v1.3+.

P.S.: Since 20th May 2002 there is an update of AmiSat[2] available on jah. This version supports the option AUTOEXIT=YES. (ps) (Translation: sk)

USB-Poseidon: Compatibility list for Poseidon USB devices
Michael Böhmer writes:
After finishing HIGHWAY production, the included USB stack Poseidon by Chris Hodges has also been frozen for release. As a small orientation guide for those interested we are able to publish a first, naturally very incomplete list of USB devices which are supported by Poseidon in the included version.

For this we have to rely upon the help of the Amiga Community and are hoping that we will receive lots of responses from HIGHWAY owners regarding further devices to be included into this compatibility list. (sd) (Translation: cb)

Event: Amiga Inside Party from 30.08.2002 to 01.09.2002
We are inviting for the next Amiga Inside, a party by and for Amiga users. From August 30th to September 1st 2002 there will once more be three days of Fun & Action in Hirsau. We will supply you with all important information that you should know about the party on our home page. Should you still have unanswered questions, don't hesitate to mail us.

The Amiga Inside doesn't think of itself as a pure LAN party where we sit in front of the computers for days on end playing one game after another. Mostly it is more trivial things that engage us there. Be it smaller problems, re-installations up to complete building/rebuilding of a computer, exchange of experience, workshops, presentations and of course talk amongst the users themselves. Naturally, Network games must not be missing at our place. You can view a few impressions of our first Amiga Inside in the archive on our home page.

Invited are all Amiga users and those interested from Germany and also beyond. (sd) (Translation: cb)

Petition: AmigaOS distribution policies and PPC hardware
PetitionOnline.com are hosting a petition aimed at Amiga Inc. to persuade them to move away from their presented distribution plans for AmigaOS4 based on compulsory licensing and compulsory OS/hardware bundling.

This is NOT originated in or aimed at any imaginary "camp". Its purpose is to help AmigaOS and POP/PPC hardware, regardless of manufacturer/distributor, to gain momentum with sane business practises and to remove obstacles against this based on unfounded technologically irrelevant restrictions imposed on third-party hardware designers and distributors. Zealots of either "side" are encouraged to leave the "Comments" field empty... (sd)
