Programming language: PureBasic becomes freeware, sources partly released
The Amiga version of the BASIC dialect PureBasic isn't continued anymore so that the developer has decided to release the whole package as freeware and to make parts of the source code publicly available.

Released were the source code of the complete command set, the IDE (Integrated Develepment Environment) as well as the source codes for some tools. The compiler is for all versions of PureBasic identical - as the Windows, Mac OS X and Linux versions are still distributed commercially theses source codes aren't available.

People who make improvements in the code of PureBasic are invited to make these available to the original developer so that they can be implemented in future Amiga versions. The PureBasic developer agrees to port the newest built of the compiler for such versions to the Amiga. (cg) (Translation: wk)
