VCD Save Version 0.2 Appears
The graphic interface of "VCD Save" has been adapted to the new NewGUI System, this means that the GUI may now be adapted to the needs of the user without rewriting the program entirely. With the help of the automatic snapshot function of NewGUI all gadgets are positioned in the places they were when the program last ended. Gadgets may be expanded or shrunk when the user presses CTRL when he clicks on the border being changed. When the user presses on the left SHIFT key the gadget is moved. The save routine has been modified in order to allow the saving of captions on SVCDs. It is possible with VCD Save to copy VideoCD tracks directly to the hard-drive, something for which AllegroCDFS was required up until now. (nba) (Translation: dm)

Status Report from the BeOS Front
[note from translator: this is a very long article from Matthias Breiter about various good news related to BeOS. Rather than translating the whole darn thing, I will loosely cover certain points and provide link information]

BeOS, currently enjoying a small rise, runs on X86 PCs and on many old Macintosh computers.

There are two new news sources for BeOS information:

Technoids: http://www.technoids.tk
Beyond: http://beyond.itbug.org/eng/

You may also see what the future holds for BeOS by going to a current site of much development:

YellowTab: http://www.yellowtab.com. There is a lot of software there and they are also looking for developers.

There are also some BeOS events coming up:

What-Is-Art (Mannheim): http://www.what-is-art.de
Begeistert (Duesseldorf): http://www.begeistert.org

So be sure to check out BeOS! (nba) (Translation: dm)

Meeting: Amiga Inside Part III - "Injected with Poison"
Once again it is upon us: from the 2nd to the 5th of October 2003 the legendary "Amiga-Inside" party will be held in Hirsau (Germany), this time together with our friends in the Mocca party. A few Pegasos systems will be shown, as well as a diverse assortment of Amiga models with varying specifications, which may be closely examined as one exchanges experiences with the owners. Interested persons may register unbindingly at the website to help give the organizers a rough idea of attendance. Because we want to actively support feminine participation, women get in free (includes 1 computer). Our team of organizers looks forward to meeting you at the Amiga-Inside meeting.
