IBrowse 2.4 installs 68k MUI classes under PPC operating systems by mistake
In the installation of IBrowse 2.4 on PPC operating systems, the NList#? MUI libraries are possibly overwritten by 68k versions. Affected users should install the corresponding classes again.

AmigaOS 4: Movie player MPlayer 1.0rc1
Andrea Palmatè is making available a new version of his OS4 port of MPlayer. MPlayer 1.0rc1 requires the final version of AmigaOS 4.0, improvements compared to the last release:
- Full overlay support thru p96_pip driver (needs AmigaOS4 Final)
- Removed cgx software modes
- The only software mode now is SDL
- Using libmad for mp? audio decoding
- Use th every last mplayer rc1 cvs
- DVD now can be played at full speed (on my G4 at least..)
- Full screen is not yet supported by p96_pip driver
- Two separate version (G3 and G4)
- XMAS icon by Kenneth Lester jr (thx!)
- p96_pip driver made by Joerg Strohmayer
- WMV3 now are native and at FULL SPEED
- a lot of mplayer bugfix!

WinUAE: AmiKit 1.2.7
For AmiKit, a complete distribution for WinUAE users, an update to version 1.2.7 is available. This can be obtained via the integrated live update function or installed manually.
Among the improvements in this version are the newest versions of Ibrowse and StarAmPlan, among other things.

AmigaOS 4: CPUTemp.docky
CPUTemp.docky displays the current CPU temperature in the AmigaOS 4 dock. The program was successfully tested with 603e, 750FX, 750GX and 7455 processors and apparently works with some 7451 models. Other CPU types (604, 750CXE etc.) were not tested.

E-Mail: SimpleMail 0.30
Version 0.30 of the MUI-based E-Mail client SimpleMail was released today. Since the last release, minor bugs in the HTML display as well as in creating indices were fixed. News that are shown in the preview window are now marked as read.
The new version of SimpleMail is available for AmigaOS 3/4 at present, the MorphOS version will be delivered later.
The SimpleMail team wishes everyone a contemplative Christmas and a happy new year.

vbcc: Compiler target for the SmartFirmware
Under the title link, Frank Wille has created a target for PowerPC OpenFirmware (specifically: the SmartFirmware of the Efika board) for the C compiler vbcc.
Through this, plain ANSI-C programs (OpenFirmware-calls and standard I/O) can be launched directly from the firmware, without needing to launch a "proper" operating system first.

AmigaOS 4: Directory Opus 4.18
Joachim "Zerohero" Birging is releasing version 4.18 of the well-known file manager Directory Opus 4. After the earlier alpha versions, the program is now available for the first time as a PPC-native version for AmigaOS 4, in addition, the update includes numerous minor improvements.

MorphOS-Team: Update of the JIT-compiler Trance
A new version of the Just-In-Time Compiler Trance has been released for MorphOS 1.4.5. The changes since the previous release are:
- Fixed a bug that would make certain IBrowse CPU versions crash (at least IBrowse 2.3 and 2.4)
- Some SAS/C float/double integer calculation fixes (lsd/asd X flag). For example, the integer version of IBrowse's javascript.library
- Addx/Subx with predecrement was fixed. These instructions are very rare, but could be used for some multiprecision math
- Trancestats has been updated to work properly with the latest MUI versions
In order to install Trance v50.12 (09.12.2006) on your MorphOS system, please download the update from the MorphOS download portal or FTP server. Then, follow these steps:
- Copy MorphOS/C/trance to MOSSYS:C/
- Copy MorphOS/Libs/trance.library to MOSSYS:Libs/
- Copy Utilities/Trancestats SYS:Utilities/
- Reboot

"a1k.org - The Magazine" is a PDF magazine created by "Hagbard" with topics around the Amiga. There is a first preview which is only a preversion and which is supposed to give you a impression of the content and style of the first issue.

MorphOS: Icon-Dock PolyNetNG 1.42
PolyNetNG is a configurable AmiDock clone which can work with pictograms as well as GIF-animations and which can start programs and handle "Sub-Docks" (screenshot). PolyNetNG requires MUI 4. The current version is no longer distributed as Shareware.
You can read the numerous changes in v1.42 in the Changelog. Hans-Jörg Ottinger has published a German catalog file for the current version of PolyNetNG.

Hively Tracker: Alpha versionen for AmigaOS 3, possible MorphOS-port
For a little time the official website of the Chiptune-Tracker Hively Tracker (we reported) is online. According to the forum there several developers are testing an AmigaOS 3-version. A video which shows the Hively Tracker on an A4000 is already available. A MorphOS-port is possible, too.
