AROS: Vector graphic programm ZuneFIG (beta version)
Yannick Erb has changed the GUI of his AROS port of the vector graphics program AmiFIG (Aminet), which was originally developed for AmigaOS, and now calls it ZuneFIG.
This version now has a MUI-interface and is based on xfig 3.2.5b.

Installation guide: Debian Sarge (PPC) on an Amiga 4000 PPC
Harald "Rotzlöffel" Meinzer has written a step by step tutorial for the installation of Debian PPC. In the first part he explains how to prepare the harddrive, to install the older Debian-version "Woody" as well as afterwards to upgrade to Debian Sarge.
The tutorial is meant to be read by users of an Amiga 4000 with PPC-board. Users of an A1200 do require different kernel-files and have to changes some parts. All users who are interested in a tutorial for an Amiga please contact Meinzer.

AROS: Icaros Desktop 1.5.1
Paolo Besser has released version 1.5.1 of his AROS-distribution Icaros Desktop. Now a new kernel is used which will provide more stability and fix the boot problems of some of the motherboards. The keyboard shortcut Control-Alt-Delete activates a cold start, and Control-lAros-rAROS a warm start.

NetBSD: Support of Mediator 4000 PCI
The Amiga-port of the NetBSD now also supports Elbox' PCI-busboard (Mediator 4000 PCI) which was developed for the Amiga 4000. The new driver em4k was tested with SATALink 3114 and NE2000-compatible network boards. The support of graphic boards is currently in development.

Party game: Plouf!
Aurélien Gâteau has translated his 18 years old party game Plouf! (written in AMOS) into English and released it under the GPL. Aurélien Gâteau describes Plouf! as "top-down game where players sit on floats, trying to sink the other players by throwing sea urchins at them."

NetBSD: Switching off the Amiga 1200 with Mediator-board via software
With the new empm(4)-driver for the Amiga-port of the operating system NetBSD it is now possible to switch off Amiga-1200-computers which are equipped with a Mediator-busboard 1200 TX or SX with the help of the command line, if an ATX power supply unit is used (video).

Hyperion: Cinemaware classics for AmigaOS-3.1-emulation under AmigaOS 4.1
The game classics developed by Cinemaware have been available for over ten years for free and have been also offered by Amiga Inc. in its emulator package. Now Hyperion Entertainment has made an agreement with Cinemaware to make available these games registered users of AmigaOS 4.1.

Real AmiKit: Distribution for AGA-Amigas (beta version)
The well-known distribution AmiKit for users of emulators now was reworked so it can be also used on real Amigas which is called "Real AmiKit".
The original AmigaOS files and Kickstart-ROM of the AGA-chipset and at least 16 MB RAM are required. An accelerator board is highly recommended. Owners of an Apollo-board should use the RemApollo-patch.
