FPGA graphics board: Driver and firmware 1.8.3 for the VA2000
Lukas 'mntmn' Hartmann has released another driver and firmware update for his FPGA-based graphics board VA2000. In version 1.8.3 a linear memory management is used which allows it to work with applications and games which do not accept the "BytesPerRow" specification. Besides, a workaround for a Picasso96 bug is included. For the extension VA21000CX now an automatic de-interlacer for the "Hires Laced" and "Lores Laced" screen solutions is available.

AmigaOS 4: Playable preview of "Spencer" (Entwickler-X)
"Spencer" (Youtube video) is the latest project of Entwickler-X (M.A.C.E., Swamp Defense, Emotion). Thomas 'imagodespira' Claus provides a playable preview but explicitly points out that this early version has still many bugs. For full performance, Spencer requires the latest versions of Warp 3D Nova and OpenGL ES although it is not perfectly clear if the last version which is available for users can meet this requirements. Spencer should also run without Nova, then MiniGL is used instead of it - and objects do not cast a shadow.

Preversion of Wings Remastered at Amiga32
We mistakenly have reported that Wings Remastered had been completed. We apologise for this mistake. A final Amiga version of Wings Remastered could not be presented at the Amiga32 but users who have ordered the game in advance could have a preversion of the AmigaOS 4 port burned on CD and take it home together with a box and a printed manual.

Hyperion announced another update for AmigaOS 3.1
At the Amiga32, yesterday Hyperion obviously announced another update for AmigaOS 3.1. Olaf 'Olsen' Barthel and Thomas 'Thor' Richter are the programmers. The most important new feature may be the support for big patitions and long file names: All relevant modules (file system, HDToolbox, Mount etc.) have been reworked. A detailed list of the planned update was published in a message at the Amiga32:
Currently we dot not have further information. If the updated system still fit on an usual ROM is not clear.
