Plattformer: Rastan-Demo V0.32
Rastan wurde 1987 von Taito für Spielhallenautomaten veröffentlicht. Vor wenigen Tagen berichteten wir über die Demoversion des sich in Entwicklung befindlichen Amigaports. Diese wurde nun auf die Version 0.32 mit folgenden Änderungen aktualisiert:
- Fixed: Jumping, swinging and then trying to do a downwards plunge mid-swing would glitch out the animation big-time.
- Grabbing onto ropes while doing a downwards plunge would cause Rastan's legs to think they were crouching and not climbing.
- The flying demon's legs would transplant themselves onto a different monster if his upper body went off-screen while the legs stayed in view.
- Fixed some enemies spawning in above ground if the player was still in mid-air at the time.
- A couple of bugfixes and tweaks for the lizardman and bat AI's.
- The HD version had issues with music and sfx playback on 68040 processors. Fixed with the latest Scorpion update.

Hall of Light: Relaunch der Amigaspieledatenbank
Seit gut einer Woche präsentiert sich die Amigaspieledatenbank "Hall of Light" im neuen Design. Die wichtigsten Änderungen:
- Lesbare Spiele-URLs, z.B. https://amiga.abime.net/games/view/hunter statt https://hol.abime.net/764
- Die Spieleseiten haben jetzt eine Struktur Spiel->Version->Veröffentlichung anstelle von separaten Spieleinträgen. Zum Beispiel hat Zool drei Versionen (ECS, AGA und CD32) und Driller/Space Station Oblivion sind in einem Eintrag.
- Neue erweiterte Spielesuche und Spieleliste.
- Responsives Design, das sich für Desktop/Tablet/Mobile anpasst.
- Neues Erscheinungsbild, das versucht, das alte Farbschema, die Registerkarten usw. beizubehalten und gleichzeitig zu modernisieren
- Seiteninterne Spielinformationen/Bildschirm/Dateibearbeitung für Redakteure/Administratoren.
- DBSs sind in zwei nebeneinander liegende Bildschirme aufgeteilt (horizontal für Desktop, vertikal für Mobile).
- Die Standard-Bildschirmgröße wird auf 640x512 verdoppelt.
- Features (Programmiersprache, erweiterte Features, Grafik, Sound) wurden aus Quickmatch in einen separaten Bereich verschoben.
Wem das neue Design nicht gefällt, der hat Zugriff auf das alte Design unter https://oldhol.abime.net/. Allerdings wird das nicht länger aktualisiert. (dr)

WHDLoad: Neue Pakete bis 22.07.2023

Diskettenabbilder am PC oder Mac: Greaseweazle Tools 1.15 / Firmware 1.4
Keir Frasers "Greaseweazle" liest ähnlich wie Kryoflux die Magnetschicht der Diskette unabhängig vom verwendeten Format und speichert soviele Informationen wie möglich in einem sogenannten "Flux Level Image" im Supercard-Format (SCP), wodurch das Lesen und Zurückschreiben kopiergeschützter Disketten möglich wird (amiga-news.de berichtete).
Zur Verwendung wird ein Diskettenlaufwerk - bspw. ein gewöhnliches 3,5"-PC-Laufwerk - an den Adapter angeschlossen, der seinerseits per USB mit dem PC oder Mac verbunden wird. Sowohl die Version 1.15 der Greaseweazle Tools als auch Version 1.4 der Greaseweazle Firmware fügen einen neuen Boardtyp hinzu: V4.1 (AT32F4xx, USB-C). (dr)

Veranstaltung: Vorschläge gesucht für den Community Award der Amiga38
Am 6./7. Oktober findet in Mönchengladbach die Amiga38 statt (amiga-news.de berichtete). Im Rahmen dieser Veranstaltung soll auch wieder über die Preisempfänger des "Community Award" abgestimmt werden - diesmal aufgeteilt in die drei Kategorien Hardware, Software/Spiele und Sonstige.
Vorschläge zu Kandidaten aus dem Amiga-Bereich für die im August startende Abstimmung, die Sie zwischen Mitte 2022 und Mitte 2023 besonders beeindruckt haben, können per E-Mail an info@amigaevent.de eingereicht werden. Spiel Jonathan: Recherchen in "Kronstadt" von Memminger Zeitung erwähnt
In den Jahren 2018/19 begab sich Markus Steffan auf Spurensuche im der Stadt Memmingen nachempfundenen "Kronstadt" des Spiels Jonathan (Wikipedia), das 1993 für den Amiga und MS-DOS erschien (amiga-news.de berichtete).
Am 22. Juli, am Fischertag, berichtete nun auch die Memminger Zeitung von diesen Recherchen sowie seiner Absicht, später einmal einen Roman zum Spiel zu verfassen - einschließlich einer Fortsetzung. (snx)

Plattformer: Frühe Version von "Jack In The Pit"
Für den AmiGameJam 2022 bzw. den KiwiJam 2023 wurde "Jack In The Pit" innerhalb von 48 Stunden geschrieben (YouTube-Video): der Plattformer kombiniert ein kurzes Gameplay mit einer stark zunehmenden Schwierigkeitsgradkurve. Er verfügt auch über eine Vielzahl von vertikalen Parallax-Effekten, um ein Gefühl von 3D-Tiefe zu schaffen und läuft auf jedem Amiga mit 1MB. (dr)

Chat-Software: AmigaGPT V1.1
Cameron Armstrong hat mit AmigaGPT ein Chatprogramm für AmigaOS 3.2 geschrieben, das die Leistungsfähigkeit des Chatbots ChatGPT nutzt (amiga-news.de berichtete). Änderungen:
- Now supports characters from Western languages other than English
- Blank responses from OpenAI no longer cause a crash
