MorphOS: WirelessDesktop 1.0 - Touchscreen-Gadgets als Eingabegeräte
WirelessDesktop von Guido "Geit" Mersmann ermöglicht die Nutzung von Handheld-Geräten mit Touchscreen (iPad, iPhone und Android-Handhelds) als Tastatur- und Maus-Ersatz unter MorphOS. Als Gegenstück für das MorphOS-Commodity wird unter iOS bzw. Android die im jeweiligen App-Store erhältliche, kostenlose App "RemoteMouse" benötigt.

MorphOS: Benachrichtigungssystem MagicBeacon 1.0
MagicBeacon von Guido "Geit" Mersmann kann auf bestimmte Ereignisse im System (Einlegen einer DVD, Anschluß einer Digitalkamera) mit frei konfigurierbaren Aktionen reagieren.
Zusätzlich gibt es ein ebenfalls frei konfigurierbares Benachrichtungungssystem, dass auch von Anwendungen Dritter genutzt werden kann um den Anwender auf bestimmte Ereignisse (neue Mails eingegangen, Kontaktaufnahme im Chat) hinzuweisen.

Sourcecodes für IPF-Diskimage-Decoder freigegeben
Die "Software Preservation Society" (SPS) archiviert kommerzielle Amiga-Spiele mitsamt des Kopierschutzes im eigens entwickelten IPF-Format, das mit dem Floppy-Controller Kryoflux wieder auf Diskette zurück geschrieben werden kann.
Mit der Offenlegung der Bibliothek, die für das Dekodieren der IPF-Disk-Images benötigt wird, kann das IPF-Format nun auch von anderen Autoren in ihrer Software unterstützt werden. (cg)

AmigaOS 4/AROS: Audio-Player Sirena Player 1.20
Beim Sirena Player handelt es sich um einen mit Hollywood geschriebenen Audio-Player, der MP3- (nicht unter AROS), WAV- und MOD-Dateien wiedergibt. In Version 1.20 wurden einige Fehler beseitigt. (cg)

MorphOS: MagicalInk-Update (Bad-Bramstedt-2011-Version)
Der Vektorgrafik-Editor MagicalInk von Carsten Siegner hat ein größeres Update erfahren, welches mit den Neuerungen HTML-5-Export (mit eigenem FTP-Client und SSL-Unterstützung) sowie Unterstützung der hpdf.library nach Einschätzung des Programmierers immer mehr zu einem "Adobe Pagemaker"
für MorphOS werde.
So ließen sich mit MagicalInk nun ganze Webauftritte mit einem großen Umfang an Seiten offline erstellen und komplett mit dem eigenen FTP-Client auf den Server hochladen. Zudem sollen die mithilfe der hpdf.library erstellten PDF-Dokumente im Funktionsumfang denjenigen moderner PDF-Editoren in nichts nachstehen.

Web-Browser NetSurf 2.8
Nach AmigaOS 4 liegt der schlanke, ursprünglich für RiscOS entwickelte Browser NetSurf dank Artur Jarosik nun auch für AmigaOS 3.x in der Version 2.8 vor. Die Neuerungen sind unter dem Titellink zu finden.

Paketmanager: Grunch 1.0 (AmigaOS 3/4, MorphOS)
Guido "geit" Mersmanns "Grunch" ist ein Paketmanager für AmigaOS 3/4 und MorphOS, der die Installation und Deinstallation von Software und deren Abhängigkeiten (benötigte Bibliotheken u.ä.) automatisiert und den Benutzer über Updates installierter Pakete informiert.
Im Gegensatz zu den aus der Linux-Welt bekannten Ansätzen oder dem gescheiterten MorphUp benötigt Grunch keine speziellen Archiv-Formate oder eigene Server - es wird lediglich eine vom Programmautor gewartete Datenbank benutzt, die detaillierte Informationen zu bestehenden Archiven von bekannten Anbietern (Aminet, MorphOS-Files etc.) enthält.
Das Grunch-Archiv enthält Portierungen für AmigaOS 3/4, und MorphOS 2 (Version 2.7 empfohlen), die AmigaOS-Versionen sind allerdings ungetestet. (cg)

AROS-Distribution: Icaros Desktop 1.3.2
Paolo Besser stellt ein Update seiner AROS-Distribution Icaros Desktop zur Verfügung. Neu sind die 2D- und 3D-Unterstützung für Fermi-basierte GeForce-Grafikkarten (GT/GTX 400 und 500) und RTL8187B-basierte USB-WLAN-Adapter, Sound-Unterstützung für VMWare-User und eine Sudoku-Umsetzung.
Außerdem enthält das Update neuere Versionen vieler Anwendungen und beseitigt diverse Fehler - u.a. sollten Update Packs jetzt auch mit Systemen funktionieren, die von einem USB-Stick gestartet wurden. (cg)

AmigaOS 4: Convierteme 2.0
Convierteme ist ein für AmigaOS 4 erstelltes Hollywood-Programm, mit dem sich kleinere Bildbearbeitungsfunktionen ausführen lassen. Hierzu gehören das Drehen um jeweils 90°, die Umwandlung in Graustufen und die Erzeugung eines Negativs. Hinzu kommen Dateioperationen sowie das Abspeichern in den Formaten BMP, PNG, LBM und JPG. Workbench-Ersatz: X-bEnCH 0.1 (Alphaversion)
Bei X-bEnCH handelt es sich um eine grafische Oberfläche (64 Farben), welche zum Starten von WHDLoad-Spielen (.slave, .exe) die Workbench ersetzt und wenig Ressourcen erfordert.
Das Programm läuft nach Angaben des Entwicklers auf allen Amigas von OCS bis AGA sowie vom 68000- bis zum 68060-Prozessor und benötigt im Betrieb weniger als 1 KB Arbeitsspeicher. Die Alphaversion 0.1 kann unter dem Titellink heruntergeladen werden. (snx)

Bootdisk-Creator: Amiga911 Maker 1.46
Mit "Amiga911 Maker" lassen sich unter AmigaOS 3.0/3.1 maßgeschneiderte Bootdisketten erstellen, die aufgrund der Verwendung von LZX oder XPK eine ganze Reihe von Tools auf einer normalen AmigaDOS-Diskette unterbringen. Der zu bootende Amiga muss dafür mit mindestens 1 MB Speicher ausgerüstet sein, empfohlen sind 2 MB.
Änderungen in Version 1.46:
- The Amiga911 boot disks will now contain a new icon set. These icons were
made in a way that should make them look OK regardless of the screenmode
used, this basically means that the graphics in the icons will look a bit
"stretched" in both laced and non-laced type of screenmodes. All of them
are standardized to 44x22 pixels, and the icons will also take up less
disk space now (at least a few KB saved).
- Four new programs are now supported:
- Check4GB - Check if your HD setup is 4GB-ready
- DiskImage - Mount any disk image file as a DOS device
- HJSplit - Split large files into smaller ones
- WhichAmiga - ShowConfig kind of tool. V1.3.3
If you add DiskImage to the Amiga911 disk, you will be able to mount ADF
floppy images, ISO CD-ROM images and HDF harddisk images on your Amiga, and
then you can copy files from/to the images. Mounting the virtual devices and
performing diskchanges is handled by a requester based script that will also
be included. There is no need for messing around with mount files since they
will be generated by the script when they are needed.
HJSplit can also be controlled by a requester based script, and it allows you
to select the exact size of the small files the original big file shall be
splitted into. You can choose between various sizes that can make each small
file fit on a Amiga or PC formatted floppy disk, or you can enter the split
size manually. The script can also join all of the files back together again.
Versions of HJSplit exists for several platforms including Windows and Linux.
- A new archive called ExtInst.lha are now included in the Amiga911 Maker
package. This archive contains the few files that earlier had to be copied
from the Extras and Install disks, and as long as ExtInst.lha is present in
the A911MakerData dir, those disks are no longer needed since the required
files will be copied from the archive instead. In other words, you may only
need the Workbench disk for creating a boot floppy from now on.
- Some system files have been replaced by the free alternatives from Michal
Letowski's MSys 1.2 pack, these files are: Avail, LoadWB, MakeLink, Reboot
and RequestChoice.
- The standard RequestFile command have also been replaced by Torsten Poulin's
free alternative version.
- If the Anaiis USB stack is to be included on the Amiga911 disk, the Anaiis
prefs program is now optional.
- The "Cut" command is no longer included, the reason for this is that the same
type of functionality can be achived with the "Echo" command instead.
- A new "Clean up" window is introduced in this version of Amiga911 Maker, and
when you open and run it, your project will be scanned for files that are no
longer needed. Some of these files will automatically be deleted, while with
others you will be asked whether they should be removed or not. You can open
the "Clean up" Gui by selecting it in the menu of the main Amiga911 Maker
window.
- In an attempt to save more space on the Amiga911 disk, a more critical look
was taken on the system files that's included on the boot floppy, and the
conclusion was that a few of them could actually go. The biggest waste of
space was the bullet & nonvolatile libraries since they are quite useless on
a emergency disk. Other files that no longer will be included are the
following: More, Date, SetClock, SetKeyboard, LoadResource, parallel.device,
serial.device, lowlevel.library and realtime.library. With the exception of
the last four files, they will now be deleted from your project when you run
"Copy system files". If you want to remove any of the the other four files as
well, you must use the "Clean up" Gui (see above). Now that "More" is no
longer included, a hardlink to MultiView is created upon booting the Amiga911
disk, this means that every time the system tries to use More, it will use
MultiView instead.
- All Windows that includes a log listview does now have a "Export Log file"
menu option, and by selecting this you will be able to save the log as a
file, or you can copy it to the clipboard.
- Various small improvements & bug fixes.

AmigaOS 4: Strategiespiel "Swamp Defense" erhältlich
Swamp Defense ist ein kommerzielles Tower Defense-Spiel von Entwickler X, das u.A. für XBox und AmigaOS 4 angeboten wird (Youtube-Video). Eine Demo-Version stand bereits seit längerem zur Verfügung, inzwischen ist auch die Vollversion für 20 Euro beim Hersteller erhältlich.
Das Spiel benötigt AmigaOS 4.1 und eine Grafikkarte, die "Compositing" unterstützt und ist auch auf Amigas mit PPC-Karte lauffähig. Die maximale Auflösung liegt bei 1920x1080, auf einem Sam440 mit Radeon 9250 werden bei FullHD-Auflösung ca. 25-30 FPS erreicht.
Die Entwickler sind auch auf dem morgen beginnenden Amiga Meeting Bad Bramstedt vertreten und werden das Spiel dort zum Kauf anbieten. (cg)
