Im Dr. Dobb's Journal 2/99 (Februar 99) habe ich einen interessanten Artikel von Michael Swaine unter dem Titel "I Join the Rebol Alliance" gefunden (S. 107ff).
Neben einem allgemein recht positiven Bericht über Carl Sassenraths REBOL-Skriptsprache findet sich auch eine recht lange Passage ueber den Amiga. Hier Auszüege:

One of the platforms Rebol runs on is, not surprisingly, the Amiga. The Amiga computer is not even a little bit dead. One estimate of the installed base of Amiga users is 100.000. Amiga is still popular in Hollywood, for example, it was used in the production of the movies Jurassic Parc and Titanic, and it's used on Babylon V to animate all external views of the space ships. It's still popular among scientists and engineers; an evolving network of Amigas has been in use by NASA since 1987, and is likely to continue in use there for several years. There's a steady stream of new or updated software coming out for the platform [...]
The Amiga 1000, as you may or may not recall, was introduced in 1985 [...]. The first Amiga OS featured preemptive multitasking, 32 bit structure, and a color GUI. [...]
Last November it was announced that QNX would provide the real-time kernel for the next version of the Amiga OS. [...] And although the new Amiga will be a radical redesign, it will probably run existing [...] applications. [...]"
Interessant ist, daß somit ein entsprechender Artikel in einem der renommiertesten Programmier-Fachmagazine auftaucht.
Ein weiterer Artikel über REBOL - in dem der Amiga immerhin als Zielplattform genannt wird, und darauf hingewiesen wird, daß Carl Sassenrath der "Vater des AmigaOS" sei - findet sich im deutschsprachigen Magazin "iX" 4/99 (S. 74ff). Es handelt sich ebenfalls um ein renommiertes Fachmagazin (Schwesterzeitschrift der c't) und Thomas Herchenroeder schliesst, nach etwas Detail- kritik, mit dem positiven Fazit "Mit seiner klaren und einfachen Syntax und einigen seiner hoeheren Sprachkonzepte kann Rebol trotz allem Gefallen finden [...]".
Auch die c't und andere Magazine berichteten bereits ueber REBOL - allerdings nicht unbedingt immer mit den entsprechenden Bezügen und Verweisen auf Amiga, AmigaOS und AmigaNG.
