AmigaOS 4: CD-/DVD-Brennprogramm AmiDVD 1.36
AmiDVD von Jörg Strohmayer ist ein sehr einfach gehaltenes CD-/DVD-Brennprogramm, das zunächst eine Image-Datei im ISO9660-Format erstellt und diese dann auf eine CD bzw. DVD schreibt. Änderungen seit Version 1.31:
- The drive chooser gadgets wasn't set if the DRIVE tooltype use used,
fixed
- Added mouse wheel support for the 2 listbrowsers
- Replaced LTR-52246S workaround by a general method
- Changed the right listbrowser to multi select
- No longer closes the CD/DVD in test mode
- Added IMAGEFILE and DRIVE tool types
- Now additionally uses IDOS->Inhibit(), for some users CDFileSystem
didn't update after burning a CD/DVD
- Added workaround for problems with a Lite-On LTR-52246S
- Fixed El Torito (U-Boot) boot support
- Removed workaround for SFS < 1.273 bug, added workaround for creating
image files >= 2 GB on file systems which don't support 64 bit packets
like FFS2

Datei-Manager: NewFilemaster 3.1 Beta 5
Filemaster ist ein Datei-Manager mit konfigurierbarer, auf BGUI basierender graphischer Benutzeroberfläche. Das Programm unterstützt bis zu acht Verzeichnis-Fenster und macht konsequent Gebrauch von den Multitasking-Fähigkeiten des Amigas.
Das vor einiger Zeit vom ursprünglichen Autor aufgegebene Produkt wird jetzt als "NewFilemaster" von Christian Kummerow weiterentwickelt. Ein kostenloses Keyfile ist im Aminet zu finden. (cg)

Veranstaltung: Bilder von der letzten C= Show, weitere Termine
Die "Commodore Gebruikers Groep" stellt Bilder von ihrem letzten Commodore-Treffen zur Verfügung, das nach Angaben der Veranstalter trotz des Sommerwetters sehr gut besucht war.
Die nächste "C= Show" findet am 22. September in Kerkrade (Holland) statt. Für den 30. Oktober ist eine größere Veranstaltung in Maarssen geplant, an der zahlreiche Retro-Computer-Clubs und -Museen teilnehmen werden.

Acer kauft US-Computerhersteller Gateway
Der taiwanische Computerkonzern Acer übernimmt den amerikanischen PC-Hersteller Gateway, der Amiga-Anwendern vor allem durch seinen Gastauftritt als Inhaber der Amiga-Rechte in Erinnerung sein dürfte.

MUI-Klasse: MCC_BetterString 11.12
Die MUI-Klassen BetterString.mcc und BetterString.mcp sowie HotKeyString.mcc wurden von Jens Langner in der Version 11.12 bzw. 12.8 für AmigaOS 3.x, AmigaOS 4 und MorphOS veröffentlicht.
Changes:
- mcc/hotkeystring: adapted documentation and minor tweaks to the sources of HotkeyString.mcc
- mcc/BetterString_mcc.h: converted all MUIV_BetterString_DoAction_#? values to a named enum rather than simple defines
- mcc: added new MUIM_BetterString_DoAction method which allows to manually perform certain actions like Copy/Cut/Paste,... which are normally just executed with the default shortcuts. This way the gadget can completly controlled remotely
- mcc: added new MUIA_BetterString_NoShortcuts attribute that allows to disable the default shortcuts like Amiga+C, Amiga+V, etc. for applications interested in performing those operations manually
- include/mccinit.c: updated to latest 1.10 version

Chiptune-Tracker: Hively-Tracker 1.4 für AmigaOS 3/4 und AROS
HivelyTracker ist ein auf dem AHX-Format basierender Tracker (Screenshot). AHX wurde in den neunziger Jahren entwickelt um Musikstücke schreiben zu können, die dem typischen Chip-Sound des SID (Sound-Chip des C64) ähneln. Änderungen seit Version 1.3:
- Playback no longer stops when the "Load Mod" filerequester is open
- Undo & Redo for almost all edit operations
- Cutting an area in the position editor cleared both columns of
the left & right edges even if they weren't selected. Fixed.
- Cutting or pasting in the position editor didn't update the
track editor even if the current tracks were changed by the
operation. Fixed.
- If you change preference options that require the GUI to be closed
and re-opened, it now does that instead of requiring you to quit
and restart.
- Skin directory, initial song directory and initial instrument
directory options all now can be selected via ASL directory requester.
- Right-clicking on a channel mute button now mutes all other channels
except that channel. If it is already the only un-muted channel,
all channels will be unmuted instead (suggested by Syphus).
- Added "9xx" panning command to the instrument performancelist. It
only changes the panning position for that specific instrument. The
next time an instrument is played in that channel, it returns to
the last panning position set with the traditional "7xx" track
command.
- Pasting or marking blocks in the position editor didn't work
correctly if channel 1 wasn't the leftmost channel. Fixed.
- Pressing Ctrl+B while marking a block now cancels block marking
instead of resetting the mark position.
- Added a drumpad mode, selectable either by the funky new on/off
gadget or via the backslash key. When enabled, selecting instruments
via numeric keyboard causes them to be played, and if edit mode is
set, the instrument is inserted into the song. Suggested by Syphus.
- Changed the release cut gadget from a 0/1 number gadget to the funk-
tastic new on/off gadget (W00T!!111)
- Fixed a bug in the command line replayer that was really dumb and
should have been spotted ages ago! Oops.
- Before, if a skin directory existed, and the logo bitmap existed
in that directory, but there was any other file missing, hively would
bomb out instead of reverting to the default skin and retrying. Now
if a skin fails to load for any reason, hively retries with the
default skin (SIDMonster-Light). This allows hively to load even
if ht.prefs contains an invalid skin (such as SIDMonster-Heavy,
which has been discontinued from 1.4 onwards).
- Fixed an incorrect pointer in the autogain routine
