AROS: Experimental distribution Icaros Desktop 1.5.2 WIP 5
Paolo Besser has released another "experimental" version 1.5.2 WIP 5 ("work in progress") of his AROS-distribution Icaros Desktop. You can find a list of changes under the title link. The last stable version 1.5.2 was released in May.

Please note that the WIP-versions are incompatible to the official ones of the distribution. They are based on Krzysztof Śmiechowicz' back ports of functions of the development branch ABIv1 to the binary interface of version 0. Therefore this version is meant for users who want to support this development by testing and reporting feedbacks. (snx) (Translation: dr)

AROS: Survey on interest on AEROS for Sam4x0- and AmigaOne-X1000-boards
Under the title link Pascal Papara has announced to adapt his Linux-hosted AROS-distribution AEROS to the PowerPC-Boards Sam440ep (Flex) and Sam460ex developed by ACube Systems and AmigaOne X1000 developed by A-EON Technology working under AmigaOS 4, if at least 50 users register interest. - In this context he mentioned that by comparision for his Raspberry-Pi-version he has 300 registered users.

An advantage of AEROS - additional the access to Linux - compared to the native version of AROS developed by Jason McMullan for the Sam460ex, is that it can use the ABI-V1 back ports of Krzysztof 'deadwood' Śmiechowicz which among others make it possible to use Directory Opus 5. AmigaOS 4: Development site for future MUI-versions established
Thore Böckelmann and Jens Maus wrote: "From now on a public website for interested AmigaOS-4-developers and users is available under the title link who use the Magic User Interface (MUI).

This site is meant as a focal point for MUI-documentations, FAQs and updates. Furthermore the website is to use by the MUI-developers for developeing further MUI for AmigaOS 4. All available MUI-versions on this website are offered with the explicit permission of the original MUI-author (Stefan Stuntz).

In order to be able to completely configure the user-interface and to change the standard skin, these versions require (similar to MUI 3.8) a keyfile, which can be only ordered via the MUI-Homepage of Stefan Stuntz. If you already have a key for MUI 3.8 or MUI 3.9, you can use it without any limitations with the new version.

Additional to the download of the developed AmigaOS-4-versions of MUI, a public bugtracker is available. All AmigaOS-4-developers and users are very welcome to report identified problems and bugs there. You can also post ideas and suggestions which then will be integrated in future versions. Currently anonymous bugreports are accepted but the MUI-developers asked every interested user to create an account to simplify the communication for solving a problem and to enable direct consultations." X500 case: Boingball and Butterfly keys (Update)
For his retro case X500 (amiga-news.de reported) Loriano 'TheDaddy' Pagni now also offers keyboards. The keys are printed in colour with over 300 dpi and have a Boingball or the MorphOS butterfly Morpho menelaus (picture).

Update: (20:30, 05.02.14, snx)
According to a current comment, the keys are for a new version of the case (called X500 Evo instead of X500 Plus), but should - according to Pagni - also fit to other mechanical keyboards like Ducky Zero, Filco or Das Keyboard. (snx) (Translation: dr)
