ACube Systems: Distribution agreement with ARM board vendor
As ACube Systems informs at the title link, they cooperate now with MAS Elettronica in such a way that each company will be offering their partner's products also on their own website. MAS Elettronica is an italian company that brings to market a range of ARM boards based on Linux and Android operating systems. (snx)

Amiga emulator: WinFellow 0.5.1
A new version of the Windows-based Amiga emulator "WinFellow" is available. The most important changes in this update:
- conversion of most of the former assembler code to C
- enhanced compatibility with many titles; the chipset interrupt handler was completely re-designed, and sound interrupt handling was changed as well, allowing execution of many titles that previously failed
- emulation of a battery backed real-time clock (Oki MSM 6242)
- support for 2 joysticks, usable simultaneously
- audio volume made controllable
- the LED overlays were changed to no longer be scaled or stretched, making them nicer to look at
- basic Cloanto Amiga Forever/RetroPlatform Player integration
- revamped debugger using a more modern GUI design
- ability to generate minidumps, which allows us to debug crashes that are reported to us
- updated PDF user guide
- update of project files to current Visual Studio (2012 Update 2 is used to compile the builds) and DirectX; the code can now be compiled using Visual Studio Express editions
- new versioning scheme, based on SVN revisions
- several minor bug and stability fixes

AmigaOS4: Plugin packages for Gimp 2.6.11
On OS4-Depot all plugin packages have been released which are included in the Gimp distribution. Additionally now two archives with new plugins are available: gimp-Plugin-pack and gimp-beautify (screenshots: 1, 2).
- gimp-plugin-pack includes the following plugins:

Commodore's biography: The Amiga Years will be published in July
The second part of Brian Bagnall's biography on Commodore called Commodore - A Company on the Edge will be published - with some delay - on July 1st.
In the "The Amiga Years" the author tried to find out why "a computer now widely regarded as having been five years ahead of its competition, failed so spectacularly in the marketplace". TIFF-Plugin for Hollywood
Press release: Airsoft Softwair has just released a new plugin for Hollywood 5 - Infinity. This plugin enables all Hollywood scripts to load and save images in the TIFF format. TIFF is a format that offers lossless compression and the possibility to store images with alpha channels. Although many Amiga systems already have a TIFF datatype installed, it's still recommended to install this plugin because OS4's TIFF datatype doesn't support alpha channel graphics and saving via datatypes is also problematic on many systems.
Thanks to Hollywood 5's cross-platform plugin system versions for AmigaOS3 (Classic), AmigaOS3 (FPU), AmigaOS4, MorphOS, WarpOS, AROS (Intel), Linux (PowerPC), Linux (Intel), Mac OS (PowerPC), Mac OS (Intel), Windows and Google's Android platform are provided.

AmigaOne X1000: Linux-Kernel 3.8.7
"xeno 74" has compiled a new version of the Linux-kernel for the X1000. Version 3.8.7 should fix problems of the Linux-kernel and RadeonHD graphic board which could occur at some OpenGL-based applications just like SuperTuxKart or the Android emulator.
For installation under Debian Wheezy or Ubuntu 12.04 the directory 3.8.7X1000 has to be copied to /lib/modules/.

MorphOS: MomosIRC 2.0
MomosIRC written by Marian 'MaaG^dA' Guc is a MUI-based IRC-client which now is available as final version 2.0.
In this version it is possible to view the client-server-communication, to save the logs of single channels and to add some buttons. Due to changes of the colour system it is recommended to delete the existing preferences and to define them again.

AmigaOS 4 / AROS: Gigalomania 0.26
After versions for AROS and MorphOS, Gigalomania now also is available for AmigaOS 4. Additionally the AROS-version was updated. In version 0.26 the "break bug" was fixed which occured if the mouse pointer was dragged outside the window. The game is an imitation of the classic Amiga game Mega lo Mania.

MorphOS: Odyssey 1.20 and Flash-Plugin swfdec 2.0
Fabien 'FAB' Coeurjuly has released a new version of the web browser Odyssey. A version without SVG-support is not offered any longer because. The most important changes in Odyssey 1.20:
- Updated to WebKit r144529 (March 2013). Amongst many other fixes, it cures an issue with some asp sites
- Added copy image URL location in image contextmenu
- Now uses MorphOS cairo/pixman/fontconfig shared libraries
- Plugins are now expected to have version 2 or later
- With spellchecker.library 50.1+ (MorphOS 3.2+), word learning feature is now functional
- More bugfixes in websockets handling
- Don't crash when HTML5 desktop notifications are invoked
Additionally a new version of the swfdec-based Flash-plugin was released which supports the Flash-standard up to version 8.

MorphOS: MultiPlay 1.0
Grzegorz 'Krashan' Kraszewski's MultiPlay is the first program which uses the new function of Reggae 3.1.7 to play more than one audio file as seamless data stream.
The source code of this Shell-command was published under the BSD-licence which at the same time is a programming example.

AROS: Distribution AspireOS 1.97 Update 5
Nikolaos Tomatsidis has released the fifth update for version 1.97 of his AROS-distribution AspireOS. This includes a patch written by Neil Cafferkey which fixes a problem with VirtualBox.
AspireOS was written for the Acer-netbook Aspire One and can be also completely used on the Toshiba-notebook Satellite Pro A200. It is not officially supported on other hardware but should work on it.

MorphOS: VecxGL
After AROS, VecxGL which is an emulator of the 8-Bit-console Vectrex is now also available for MorphOS (screenshot). Juha-Pekka 'Jupp3' Jokela has added a joystick support. If the emulator is started without a defined game-ROM, the included asteroids-clone "Minestorm" is started.

Disney closed down LucasArts
In 1982 the video game developer company LucasArts was founded which also on the Amiga released famous games like Maniac Manson, Monkey Island, Indiana Jones and Zak McKracken. A half year ago the Disney-company took over LucasArts and now has closed down it.

- Fixed a bug that could cause minor graphics corruption that occurred on a few graphics cards when switching between GPU and CPU based rendering (f.e. the arrow buttons in Directory Opus 4)
- Forces the OS to wait for the GPU to be idle before a soft reboot so that some Radeon HD 5xxx cards don't lock up if the soft-reboot occurs while they're still busy (requiring a hard reset)
- Re-enabled using timer device for longish delays when switching screenmodes (no busy waiting means more CPU time for other tasks). Added a workaround so that this doesn't prevent soft reboots
- In addition, there have also been minor miscellaneous fixes

MorphOS: Reggae 3.1.7
An update for Grzegorz 'Krashan' Kraszewski's multimedia framework Reggae is now available. The key features of this update are two new classes. The first, clipboard.stream, provides read access to the system clipboard for the rest of Reggae, thus media files can be now automatically decoded from the clipboard.
The second class, gapless.filter, is a base building block for audio players featuring gapless playback. The first, very simple, shell based player using this feature will be released this week. Three other classes, file.output, audio.output and the base multimedia.class have been also updated with improvements and bugfixes. Users speaking Swedish or Turkish will also get some locale files.
All new features are documented in updated compiler headers and autodocs. The package can be automatically installed with Grunch or downloaded from the title link. In both cases the MorphOS SDK is updated automatically if detected. (snx)

AmigaOS 4: Gimp 2.6.11 for AmiCygnix
For his AmiCygnix-port of the picture editing program Gimp, Edgar Schwan has released an update (screenshot).
Due to the size of the data, most of the plugins are available as separate packages. Among others this applies to two packages for loading and saving files. The first of this package is optional. All formats included in this package can be loaded with internal plugins. You can get further informationen in the readme-file.
Changes:
- New version 2.6.11 with many improvements, for example the new GEGL graphics system.
- The internal loaders were enhanced and two new formats were added. While saving in JPEG, PNG or TIFF format you can choose now the compression rate.
- Some of the Script-Fu scripts are now available as python plug-ins.
- Compiled with GTK+ 2.24.
- New version 2.7.2 of the Python package for Gimp python plug-ins.
- Keyboard layouts that do not conform to ISO-8859-1 standard (eg Polish or Greek keyboards) are now better supported.
- Support for dead keys. For a complete support of dead keys, the installation of AmiCygnix 1.3 (or better) is mandatory!

Scandoubler: Configuration tool for Indivision AGA Mk2
Almost a year after Individual Computer has started to deliver its scandoubler Indivision AGA Mk2, now a configuration tool is available which the users have eagerly awaited.
Jens Schönfeld from Individual Computers points out that it is an early beta version of the program. He asks any user to read the included "readme" carefully. The used example configuration "converts" each Amiga screen mode to a VESA-mode with about 60 Hz display refresh rate. It has been tested on a Dell monitor with a solution of 1280x1024 pixels.
For all screen modes, DVI as well as VGA are activated - if vertical stripes appear on the display, the DVI-signals have to be deactivated (for each single screen mode).

AmigaOS 4: Status-Update of Hyperion
In a blog of Hyperion Entertainment, Hans-Jörg Frieden has released a status update on the latest developments of AmigaOS 4.2:
- Exec SG : kernel development has been forked off into an experimental and stable branch, to facilitate field testing of potentially drastically new features such as the scheduler, separate address spaces, 64 bit address space awareness etc.
- The task scheduler was completely rewritten in C and now implements the long planned "pluggable" scheduler functionality : the scheduling algorithm can be changed on the fly, during runtime depending on factors like task's preference and CPU load, different CPU cores using different scheduling algorithms. The re-write of the scheduler also allows for load balancing which is required for proper multicore support.
- Work is in progress on yet another Power ISA implementation.
- Gallium : bumped to Mesa 9.1, i.e. OpenGL 3.1. Software renderer already implemented, work on hardware accelerated drivers within the framework of Gallium will benefit substantially by the experience gained developing Warp3D drivers for the AMD Radeon Evergreen range (Radeon HD 5xxx/6xxx).

A-EON Technology: New batch of AmigaOne X1000 boards
As A-EON Technology have announced at their Facebook website at the title link, they have commissioned Varisys to manufacture a new batch of Nemo motherboards.

MorphOS: Bounty for TORCS-port (car racing game)
On MorphOS.pl under the title link, a bounty project was established. Szilárd 'Bszili' Biró is going to port the latest version 1.3.4 of the car racing game TORCS (The Open Racing Car Simulator) to MorphOS.
The required 100 Euro already have been achieved. Money beyond this amount will be used for different ports. Suggestions for games can be submitted in the MorphZone.

Hollywood: JPEG 2000 plugin released
Press release: Airsoft Softwair has just released a new plugin for Hollywood 5: Infinity. This plugin enables all Hollywood scripts to load and save images in the JPEG 2000 format.
JPEG 2000 is the successor to the popular JPEG format and offers multiple advantages over its predecessor including lossless compression and the possibility to store images with alpha channels.
Additionally, when a JPEG 2000 plugin is available and you compile executables for Mac OS X, Hollywood will be able to create Mac OS X icons in the resolutions 256x256 and 512x512 as well because these images are encoded using JPEG 2000 bitstreams.
You can download the plugin from the official Hollywood portal. Thanks to Hollywood 5's cross-platform plugin system versions for AmigaOS 3.x, AmigaOS 3.x (FPU), AmigaOS 4, MorphOS, WarpOS, AROS (Intel), Linux (PowerPC), Linux (Intel), Mac OS X (PowerPC), Mac OS X (Intel), Windows and Google's Android platform are provided. Distribution for AGA-Amigas: Real AmiKit 0.2

AROS: 68k-Distribution AROS Vision 1.5.9
Olaf Schönweiß has updated his AROS/68k-distribution which is a mix of AROS and AmigaOS software (screenshot, English-language tutorial).
In version 1.5.9 the complete support for CD (automounting of CDs and playing music-CDs with MUI CD Player) was added. Videos can be played with FFplay or MPlayer; a CD³²-emulation is still missing. Additionally FAT95, TwinVNC, Mr. Beanbag as well as audio and backup programs have been completed and the Amistart menu upgraded.

AmigaOS 4: OSDLauncher 0.3.0 (beta)
"OSDLauncher" is a management tool for On Screen Displays. Instead of directly controlling multimedia functions like "louder", "quieter" or "pause" with global hotkeys, at first OSDLauncher is started.
With the help of graphics the tool then shows the current status (volume, start/stop etc.) and then transmits the command via ARexx to the multimedia application (screenshot, Youtube video).
OSDLauncher requires AllKey,
Mixer, Eject.Os4 and
MUI_Calc. The author explained in the readme the installation and points out the beta status of the current version.
