LCD Monitor Test 1.0
Ilkka Lehtoranta has published a test program for LCD-monitors for AmigaOS 3.x and MorphOS. CyberGraphX 3.0 and MUI 3.3 are at least required.

It should be also possible to fix "frozen" pixels but it could not be tested by the author himself. You can read about the different monitor tests in the readme file.

Preview: New games for classic Amigas
Though things have calmed down around Mr. Beanbag (rumor has it that the programmer lost interest) and Super Pumpkin Brothers, some new projects for OCS and AGA Amigas have recently emerged instead:

Annihilation

Annihilation is a horizontally-scrolling shoot'em up for AGA Amigas (screenshot). The developers Underground Arcade promise "parallax scrolling, intelligent enemy waves, awesome power-ups, huge mid-level and end-of-level guardians, [...]" on their web page. The player should be able to make a choice among three pilots, who possess different spaceships. Annihilation's release is planned for 2008, a two-year-old demo can be found at Aminet.

Halloween Nightmare

Halloween Nightmare, which comes from Underground Arcade as well, is about a platform game where the player can slip into various Halloween costumes (screenshot). The release is planned for this year, too, a playable demo version is available since several months. Halloween Nightmare is being developed with the game construction kit Backbone.

Ambermoon Arcade

"Ambermoon Arcade," which is also being developed with Backbone, should become a Golden Axe-style beat'em up, which is located in the world of the RPG classic Ambermoon (Screenshots: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5). A demo version should be released before long. (cg) (Translation: cad)
