AROS: Video shows SMP (symmetric multiprocessing) test with fractal generator Under the title link, a video published by Michal Schulz shows a fractal generator which demonstrates the usage of one and of four processor cores under AROS/x64. The result is "not fully optimal yet". Michael Schulz further explained: "Drawing fractal requires quite frequent access to common bitmap shared among all tasks on all cores, so a spinlock is used for protection, thus, speed penalty. One could surely do that better :) There are also tons of memory allocations in the threads." (snx) (Translation: dr) [News message: 05.
