Starbreeze acquires the rights to Cinemawar (Defender of the Crown, Wings, etc.)
In a press release the Swedish Starbreeze AB has announced that the company did acquire the rights to Cinemaware's classic video game catalogue (Defender of the Crown, Wings, It came from the Desert) as well as the trade mark "Cinemaware" itself. Obviously they plan to release new versions of the games.
In a discussion on a1k.org the previous right holder explained that Starbreeze only will develop VR/IMAX-products of Cinemaware' games. He himself continues to put the games on the market. The both projects Wings Remastered for AmigaOS 4, MorphOS and AROS as well as Defender of the Crown - Extended Collectors Cut will be finished soon. CDs and packing are in production. The next product which is planned is a Collectors Edition of Rocket Ranger.
