Floppy-Emulator: Raspberry pi as disk drive replacement The Italian Maurizo Ramondo has replaced the disk drive of his Amiga 500 by a Raspberry Pi: The single-board computer was connceted to the internal floppy port of the Amiga with a simple adapter developed by Ramondo and in this way emulates two disk drives. As data medium the SD-card of the Raspberry Pi is used - the credit-card-sized computer was put in the A500, so it is accessable through the original disk drive slot. The emulated floppy is ready seven seconds after booting the Amiga because Ramondo did not want to use Linux and instead of it uses a self developed programm, which has 240 KB. After a reset, the Amiga boots a setup programm. There you can assign one or several ADF-images to the emulated drives. While operating you can switch between the ADF-files with a key. The developer made available all documents as well as the software on his website for free. (cg) (Translation: dr) [News message: 28.
