Developer tool: Monkey-Target (Update)
Jens Henschel wrote: Mark Sibly created Blitz Basic for the Amiga and afterwards several derivates for PC. In this way Blitz Basic, Blitz Plus, Blitz 3D and Blitz Max were created. The last Blitz-Basic variation was called Monkey and made it possible going back to the Amiga.

Monkey is not a real compiler but a so called transpiler which translates the source languages Monkey into any other. I succeeded in compiling the Monkey code for AmigaOS 3.x or AROS. MorphOS and AmigaOS 4 were already implemented but they include some exceptions which have to be solved.

Monkey is not Freeware but costs 120 US-Dollar. But Monkey allows you to compile a source code without changes for Android, iOS, GLFW, XNA, HTML5 and now for AmigaOS 3.x and AROS as well.

Please note: Currently there is not a port of the des Monkey-framework "Mojo" (graphic modul for simple 2D-games) for AmigaOS and not ports of "amigaos3" for other targets. This will happen soon. For now it was important to support AmigaOS/AROS etc. A port of Mojo is in developemnt.

Installation:
  1. Important: Create a backup of your Monkey-installation!
  2. Extract the archive and copy the contents over your Monkey-installation
  3. Install AmiDevCpp (Link)
  4. Add the AmiDevCpp-Bin-path ([AMIDEVCPP]\usr\local\amiga\bin) of your Windows-"Path"-variable
  5. Edit [MonkeyDir]\bin\config.winnt.txt: Set AOS3 and/or AROS to 1
  6. Load /bananas/Amiga/amiga.monkey
  7. Choose "aos3" as target. If you use JungleIDE as IDE you can choose the target as well as the kind of compilition. Take "Build". The Standard-IDE tries to start the compilat which of course causes an error. Do not worry the compilat was created yet
  8. Copy the executable to the target system and start it
Download: AmigaTarget.zip (460 KB)

Update: (09:23, 01.12.11, snx)
As commented by the author, the archive has been updated yesterday noon. Main feature is the usability of the Amiga target also with the demo version of Monkey. The latter is functionally unrestricted, only limitation is the non-commercial usage. (snx) (Translation: dr)
