Hardware: A-EON announced AmigaOne X1000
Finally after a one-week marketing-campaign today the Belgian-British company A-EON has published detailed information on his AmigaOS 4-hardware which will be called "AmigaOne X1000". According to the website the X1000 is supposed to be availble "still before summer" and will help to establish the Amiga again as combination of "great hardware as well as great Operating System".

They are not still allowed to call the name of the used CPU. Currently it is available only very limited. Most of the readers probably had never seen "one in the wild". "It's a dual-core Power Architecture CPU, with a very low Thermal Design Point".

The specifications of the X1000-motherboard, called "Nemo":
  • ATX Formfactor
  • Dual-core PowerISAâ„¢ v2.04+ CPU
  • "Xena" XMOS XS1-L1 128 SDS
  • 7.1 channel HD audio
  • 4x DDR2 RAM slots
  • 10x USB 2.0
  • 1x Gigabit Ethernet
  • 2x PCIe x16 slots (1x16 or 2x8)
  • 2x PCIe x1 slots
  • 1x Xorro slot
  • 2x PCI legacy slots
  • 2x RS232
  • 4x SATA 2 connectors
  • 1x IDE connector
  • JTAG connector
  • 1x Compact Flash

"Xena" is the configurable microcontroller called XCore produced by XMOS

On a discussion on amigaworld.net Robert Trevor Dickinson ("TrevorDick") from A-EON said that the CPU of the X1000 has definitely more than 1,2 Ghz. (cg) (Translation: dr)
