Back to the Roots: Server-Crash Ralf Steines wrote: Unfortunately here come bad news. Recently a Raid5-Array was damaged so two harddrives lost their data. Despite of rescue attempts almost all data were lost which were saved in ther main archive and on the FTP server. The main archive has got a backup server which unfortunately cannot save the high amount of data on the FTP-server. We have a loss of nearly 2,6 millions (nearly all Amiga-) files. Thank God, in winter the whole archive was checked for viruses. Additionally ca. 20.000 new disk archives and ca. 50.000 virus protocols were uploaded which were almost all (online) lost. Thanks to the virus tests ca. 95% of the lost data are morrored offline. Therefore it will take a while until all data will be uploaded to the FTP. With a home-DSL connection it will take ca. half of a year. Until then the main archive is available on the replacement server (automatic redirect). The FTP-server will stay offline until the first upload will be done. Of course the whole archive will be recovered but it will take a while. The affected harddrives were all completely financed with donations 4 years ago. If anybody is interested in supporting the new acquisition: On each download site there is a donation link. We will try to expand the main site (3 TB) and to get a mirror with the whole archive. (snx) (Translation: dr) [News message: 26.
