Heise: New software for music discrimination As Heise online reports that Karlheinz Brandenburg, a co-developer of the MP3 format, has developed a software which is capable to discriminate different music tracks by their temporal pattern, instrumantation, speed and dynamics. That offers the ability to do an automatic sorting of a music collection and for new search engines but on the other hand new mechanisms for copy protection also.
