Application Response Measurement 4.0 will be finalized shortly
The version 4.0 of the Application Response Measurement
(ARM)
standard developed within the OpenGroup will be finalized shortly.
This standard defines a C/C++ and Java API for instrumenting (distributed)
applications. Most notably, with this standard programming language,
process and host boundaries are not a restriction for transaction and
sub-transaction measurements any more - resulting in a real end-to-end
(business-) transaction measurement. For a detailed description of
the ARM standard please read the document available on the OpenGroup
site.
Together with IBM and HP, the tang-IT Consulting GmbH has led
the development of this version 4.0 of the ARM standard. They are going
to show their ARM 4.0-based product called "tang-IT ARM" at
the LinuxWorld 2003 exhibition in Frankfurt, Germany from Oct. 27 to 29.
The main developers of *tang-IT ARM* have been knowning the Amiga
platform from the beginning. Therefore they can imagine a port to
either AmigaOS 3.x/4.0 or MorphOS if there is sufficient demand (>10) for
such a product in this niche market. A port to AmigaOS or MorphOS could be
available within a month and a developer license is about 200 Euro. (nba)
