Testing Report: Radio Keyboard and Mouse on Amiga
When I attended the club meeting of AmCluSt early
this month, I was impressed with the radio keyboard and mouse from Michael Göken. These were made possible through two components:
The MMKeyboard-Adapter from Guido Mersmann and the PS/2 adapter
building instructions (hard/hack/ps2m.lha) from Denis Sotchenko.
Following these instructions Guido built me a PS/2 adapter in more than an hour of detailed work, so thanks again, sincerely! Whoever is
interested in an MMKeyboard-Adapter from Guido Mersmann should send an email to him.
The opportunity to try out Tevion's radio-controlled keyboard and mouse came about because Aldi was offering it inexpensively. Both
adapters worked perfectly on my Amiga 4000 T. It's very pleasant to have a table top free of coiled cables.
In any case the crux of the matter is the program MMKeyboard.lha
by Guido Mersmann. It allows every key of the multimedia keyboard to be individually configured. Here is the official short description of the
program:
MMKeyboard allows the use of Windows keyboards on Amiga. Beyond that, it makes it possible to start programs with the multimedia keys
and much more. There are none of the driver problems as are found on the PC! A little Commodity activates all the "non-standard" keys on
every keyboard! Even future keys will work! MMKeyboard also offers a real hardware password login with an optional, selectable Amiga skin,
full reset handler compatibility, and many other configuration options.
All in all I find that these are very good and useful creations which allow me to write the news more easily :).
