Heise: Background details: Microsoft are Stricken
«Crippled due to the cartel case, tantalized by cracker's attacks, and trailed by the general
downwards trend of the PC branch the software giant from Redmond now starts to paddle hectically.
Because the signs are indicating storm: For the first time after ten years and for the second time
in the company's history at all Microsoft had to call out a profit caution for the current quarter.
PC sales in the otherwise so opulent Christmas business are stagnating worldwide, thus the best
income source stops bubbling the way Bill Gates' crew was used to. After all, almost a third of volume of
sales Microsoft draws from the fact that vendors sell PC's along with Windows or other products by Microsoft.»
