FutureZone: AOL and Gateway to bring Linux surf stations
Sounds just like our MCC:
"Webpad, desktop- and kitchen device | automatically connect to AOL network | AOL-CEO:
Help for young people. AOL and Gateway will bring a line of relatively cheap surf stations
starting by the end of the year, running under Linux."
Heise: Gateway and AOL
to bring surf terminals
"On the Spring Internet World show in Los Angeles, AOL and Gateway for the first time
present their line of surf devices (Internet Appliances): A web-pad, a so-called
countertop device with cordless keyboard, and a desktop system. The countertop device,
basically a LCD screen with attachment, are planned to reach the market for christmas
2000. The two other devices will follow next year. The desktop system looks like a grey
version of the iMac, and according to Gateway will cost less than 500 USD."
