First Fast-Z2 card for Z4-board Jens Schönfeld writes: The first card to support the Fast-Z2 mode of the new Z4-board, "Buddha Flash Maxxelerate", is available. The adjustable timing has been removed, so only up-to-date hard disks are supported. The performance is about 80% better than that of a "normal" Buddha Flash. An A1200 with Apollo 68040-25 reaches almost 3,1 MB per second, which should be roughly the speed achieved by a 060 or PPC board. I expect a 68030-40 to reach almost 5 MB per second, detailed benchmarks to be available this week. If you want your Buddha to be updated, you'll have to send it in. The price for the update is 18,- Euro plus shipping. (ps) [News message: 22. Nov. 1999, 08:00] [Comments: 0] [Send via e-mail] [Print version] [ASCII version] | ||
