Amiga Arena: Interview with Mark Reynolds
Recently "BlacksEditor" (see interview with Mauro Fontana English, German) has been as surprisingly as the until that time very good and up to date Anti Gravity clone "Roketz" released as full versions; Roketz development should be continued, too! The Amiga Arena spoke with Mark Reynolds about the past and the future of "Roketz"! This interview is available in English and German.

In own account:
Olaf Köbnik: "The interviews of "Amiga Arena" aren`t these standard questions, like those published before. After there have been some critics all interviews since May have been reworked and made individually." (ps) (Translation: ub)

amiga-news.de: summer break from the 15th of July to August the 31st 2002
During four years we delivered day by day the latest news without any interruption. Though it is now time for a breather and a time out for all persons involved. For that reason we have planned a longer lasting summer break from July the 15th until August the 31st 2002.

During this period there won't be any news and translations, the commentary function and the ANF (possibility to post news online) will be disabled. The forum will be kept enabled. We will announce a talk master who will be responsible for its content.

We discussed this issue thoroughly and controversial if, and if so in which kind, we could/should realize such a summer break. A short break will not result in any recovery and a longer break comprises the risk to lose readers. A stopgap for urgend news seemed to be possible but difficult, who wants to be responsible to decide wether a news item is urgent or not? Further more this wouldn't be a real recovery, say nothing half, nothing whole. We trust in the hope that our readers will not have forgotten us after such a long break :).

However we will go back to work after the summer break with a whole new motivation. We ask for your understanding and therefore announce this break that early.

HTML-Tool: HSC V0.925
Today Matthias Bethke released version 0.925 of the HTML-preprocessor 'HSC' (HTML Sucks Completely). The update includes new features and an updated documentation. This one is online available, too. Changes:
  • shows errors for missing required tags in NORMAL mode now, only RELAXED disables them
  • added /RCMD=RECOMMENDED attribute modifier. Useful for accessibility tags like ACCESSKEY, TITLE etc., this yields "bad style" warning #90. HSC.Prefs is still awaiting a full update according to the W3C guidelines
  • user defines from the commandline are now processed before the prefsfile is read. This allows individual prefs to be used depending on commandline switches that needn't be built in but can be user-supplied in form of a DEFINE
This release is only available as source code. The source code should be compileable on every supported system (tested with SuSE 7.3 and HP/UX 10.20). more ... (ps) (Translation: sk)

"Most people noticed instantly that not only the design has changed a little but also the rubrics have been modified. Although this site's main feature is a lack of content, we're sure that this will change soon.

The most important change is the introduction of the section AmiBlitz2. I hope that CjStroker accept my lack of time and won't ask me twice each day when it will be really full up ;)

Filesharing: Audiogalaxy Satellite for AmigaOS version 1.1.1 (cvs 1.38)
There's an update to version 1.1.1 been released (cvs 1.38). AudioGalaxy is a known P2P file sharing service. For Linux exists an open source conversion named "OpenAG", now there's a version of this for AmigaOS available. Further details can be found in the readme.

The program can be downloaded from the home page of the author. In addition you need the ixemul.library (at least v48, to be found on the home page, too) to run the program.

For those who are not familiar with AudioGalaxy yet:
The AudioGalaxy client owns no GUI (graphical user interface) as it runs only in the background. Just run the program, then create an account at audiogalaxy.com and log in using a web browser. Optionally one can use the frontend FSWatcher by Thomas Igracki.

The file search itself as well as the downloads will then be done via web browser. (ps) (Translation: wk)

First mices and keyboards, then cameras (web and digital), hubs, printers and other gizmos can be used and easily configured.

Poseidon runs on Subway (A1200), Highway (ZorroII) as well as GREX PCI- USB-controller, and the internal USB connection of the Pegasos. (ps) (Translation: dm)

Amiga Society: News about Action-Strategy Game ´Schlachtfeld´
Amiga Society writes: "There are some new things in Schlachtfeld: Eddy has delivered a few unique things in the textures. This allows an optimized 256 color palette to be displayed. The new pictures are then placed online once again. For all of you who now say "256 colors aren't enough..." there will certainly be more colors available in some later phase. But now is the time to raise high Peter's old motto: the game should run on "any" AGA machine. And for that we have a restriction to the old version. A new alpha is well within reach - it'll be presented as before without a lot of publicity. We hope to have a new Beta very soon!" (ps) (Translation: dm)
