HD installer: WHDLoad 16.3, new packages until July, 17th
WHDLoad is a collection of tools for hard disk installations of older games via so called "Installers". Since yesterday is version 16.3 available.

IOSPIRIT: fxSCAN 4.06 available
In the download-area of IOSPIRIT an update-archive from version 4.0, 4.01, 4.02, 4.03, 4.04 and 4.05 of fxSCAN to V4.06 is now available for download to registered customers. Changes include a fix for some rare problems with PDF-export. A detailed list of changes can be found in the update archive. fxSCAN 4 is currently available at a special price. (snx)

Golem: Interview: The developers are bad, not PHP
»Zend founder Zeev Suraski in talks with Golem.de
The Israeli company Zend is responsible for the core of the free script language PHP that has been released recently in version 5 and offers commercial products for PHP. PHP 5 comes with many new functions that are partly due to the reworked object support of the Zend Engine II. Golem.de talked to Zend founder Zeev Suraski about the new possibilities but also about limitations of PHP.«

File system: version 1.227 of SFS on Aminet

CDIrip (20 KB) - Extract data from cdi (discjuggler) files
yydecode (28 KB) - Decodes yenc files (found on the newsgroups)

AmigaOS 4: Playstation emulator 'FPSE'
Mathias Roslund has ported the Playstation emulator 'FPSE' to AmigaOS 4. The port has not been tested extensively yet, the GUI is not ported to PPC code yet and there's no Warp3D support available.

RISC OS: Castle Technology Ltd. and RISC OS Ltd. work together
After Chris Williams wrote an article at the end of April (amiga-news.de reported), where he wondered himself "Are we so dissimilar?", yesterday he could report of a historical event: United at long last - RISC OS Ltd. and Castle Technology Ltd. have published a common press release in which they explain their cooperation in future. AmiWest 2004: UGN will broadcast
As every year the Amiga User Group Network (UGN) will report of the AmiWest which is the biggest Amiga event in North America which will take place on July, 24th/25th. We will broadcast via webcam as well as audio and video streams. The highlights will be the speech of Garry Hares on Saturday as well as the live interview with KMOS-CEO on Sunday. BSD: DragonFly 1.0 Released

MorphOS: OpenTTD 0.3.3
OpenTTD is an open source clone of the Microprose game "Transport Tycoon Deluxe". Other than with the original game several extensions and new features were added, e.g. many functions of the famous TTD patch were integrated directly.

IRC-Client: WookieChat version 1.2 released
The IRC client WookieChat is available as version 1.2 (353 KB) now. The enforcer hits are not solved yet but the author wanted to release the current state before he will go on vacations. If there are problems with the new version there is still the version V1.1 available for download.

"Solar Rescue" is a small shooter created with the legendary "SEUCK" ('Shoot'em Up Construction Kit').

PerSuaSiVe SoftWorX: datatypes akGIF and akTIFF for free
Because of the end of the LZW patent Andreas R. Kleinert now made also the datatypes akGIF and akTIFF available free of charge so that they should appear on Aminet soon.
