Hardware Compendium: Update of Amiga Hardware World
Right now at AHW there are over 850 expansions listed for the Amiga, each with its own description, many of them with pictures. The current update includes countless new hardware articles and expanded descriptions and 66 new photos - for example a photo of the floppyport expansion Drive Expander, the SCSI controller Rapidfire, and an early revision of the graphic card Picasso II (many thanks to all those who sent it in!).

Beyond that there's now a handbook of the "Apollo 30x0/40x0" CPU cards as well as seven new installation diskettes available for download. A detailed overview of all the current changes to the website may be found here. (cg) (Translation: dm)

The winner of the Pyromania/Millennium bundle (amiga-news.de reported) is Peter Halin, whose donation was the first to put the reward for the browser port over the 9,000 U.S. dollar mark. The current amount is now 9,217 dollars.

Similarly obtaining a Pyromania/Millennium software bundle from DiscreetFX are Darren O'Leary and Mark Bond, whose donation followed right after that of Peter Halin.

Furthermore, DiscreetFX promises everybody who donates after Peter Halin and on the way to the 10,000 dollar mark the same software bundle, should the 10,000 figure be reached by the end of this month. (snx) (Translation: dm)

Update of the Remote Desktop Client
With version 1.3.1cvs of 12th January 2005 the Remote Desktop Client has taken care of a few bugs, such as those with iconification. It's also been adapted to compiler GCC 3.x. Also there's now a native version for Amiga OS4.

For the AmigaOS4-Version, AmiSSL V1 with all the ciphers is required as well as the "OS4 glue files" to be found there.

Furthermore, the Remote Desktop Client FAQ has been expanded. The authors urge you to look at the appropriate section if you have a problem.

This update was made possible through Martin Blom, Jörg Strohmayer and Darren Eveland.

The "remote Desktop Protocol" (RDP) makes it possible to access over a network applications that are implemented on a Windows terminal server. On the user side only a representation of the respective application takes place (screenshot).
