Grasshopper LLC: Umfrage zur Entwicklung von Pagestream und mehr
Grasshopper LLC, Entwickler der DTP-Software Pagestream, hat folgende
Neuigkeiten bekannt gegeben:
New website: GrasshopperLLC unveiled the new web site. With improved navigation and by
placing PageStream in the spot light we hope to catch the eye of new
customers. For our existing customers, we have included the entire
PageStream documentation, added new tips, and updated many
sections. "This new web site should help our customers find the
information they need quickly without unnecessary searching", owner Marna
Holt said. "Our move to a telecommuting workplace is progressing well. We
expect to unveil more welcome surprises in the weeks to come. We
are also pleased to announce that we will continue to offer our low
PageStream pricing and hope it can move from a summer time special to a
permanent pricing discount." PageStream now lists for $99 (down from
$299!!) and upgrades start out at only $40. More pricing options can be
found on our web site at www.grasshopperllc.com.
Hermit Hides: We had expected to include the second part of Deron's
article on creating your own borders in PageStream. However, Deron has
been swamped in programming work and has not been able to complete it.
Normally we would put the hot poker to him, but after seeing all that he
has accomplished this last month we decided to give him a little slack.
Next time you see him online, give him a little pat on the back. While we
are at it, mark September 25th on your calender. This will mark Deron's
37th trip around the sun! Just don't tell him we told you. What is even
more amazing is that this December will mark PageStream's 15th year! Not
sure if we should tell that one to Deron.
PageStream Linux Screen Shots: August 17th saw the fourth release of
PageStream Linux go online. This
release includes the first working example of the new display library that
has been developed for PageStream. The most notable features that
PageStream is using now is the ability to display anti-aliased text and
create built in fonts for PDF files. Future releases of PageStream will
take advantage of other features in the display library such as
alpha-blending/transparency, print/export objects and pages to bitmaps,
and color correction. Screenshots of PageStream Linux can be found on the
front page of our web site at www.grasshopperllc.com.
PageStream Amiga Development Survey: As progress is made towards the completion of the new display library
prototype on Linux, we are turning our attention towards porting the new
display library towards the existing three platforms. The target platforms
are Windows, Mac OS X, and the Amiga. The question of course is which
versions of the Amiga OS and hardware to support. We will certainly
support the upcoming OS4 and AmigaOne combination. The question is if we
should try and support the older 68k hardware, Amiga OS clones like
MorphOS, or natively compiled Amithlon. If Amiga users will hop over to
our web site and fill out the simple survey that asks about their Amiga
hardware present and future, and their interest in PageStream, we can take
the next step in PageStream Amiga's long history! (nba)
