Notfall bei IOM - Harddisk Crash
Schlechte Nachrichten von IOM. Aufgrund eines Festplattencrashs
sind alle Projektdaten, der gesamte Schriftverkehr, Adressen und
vieles mehr gelöscht worden.
Eventuell gibt es jedoch die Möglichkeit, die Festplatte wieder
zum Leben zu erwecken. Es handelt sich um eine
Quantum Fireball TM 3,2 GB SCSI Festplatte, Typ 3200S P/N TM32S012 Rev 02-B
Falls jemand eine Idee hat, bitten wir um Information.
Sollte jemand eine gleiche Platte haben und es schaffen, die
Platine abzuschrauben, wären wir sehr glücklich.,wenn wir diese
leihweise bekommen könnten. Die Platte war am CyberstormPPC
SCSI-Controller angeschlossen und mit SFS formatiert.

Neue MUIbase-Version 1.4
Eine neue Version der MUIbase liegt ab sofort zum Download bereitliegt.
Version 1.4 enthält einige größere Bugfixes und ein paar Ergänzungen.
Kataloge für deutsch, schwedisch, spanisch und französisch sind vorhanden.

Neue AMIGA Website online
Da die neue IP-Adresse noch nicht in allen Domain Name Servern eingetragen
ist, kann man die "neue" www.amiga.com-Seite vorab unter http://209.15.87.244/
ansehen. "Neue" steht deshalb in Anführungszeichen, weil das Layout sicher einigen
noch aus Schindlerzeiten bekannt sein dürfte.
Leider hat die Seite an Übersichtlichkeit verloren,
mir persönlich hat das Layout damals schon nicht gefallen.
Es war seinerzeit eine weise Entscheidung von Collas, die Seiten
vom Netz zu nehmen. Nach der Ankündigung der "neuen Website"
hatte ich ehrlich gesagt erheblich mehr erwartet. (ps) (ps)

seinem Bereich Berichte einen Kurztest über das neue SuSE
Linux 6.4 online.
Getestet wurde die offizielle Version 6.4 der SuSE Distribution,

txt2pdf ist ein sehr flexibles und mächtiges PERL5-Programm, mit welchem
Sie Textdateien in PDF-Dateien konvertieren können. Weitere Einzelheiten finden Sie in der

txt2pdf is a very flexible and powerful PERL5 program
(5 penguins at LinuxBerg, 5 cows at TuCows Mac and BeOS).
It's a converter from text files to PDF format files.
Why do you need txt2pdf?
Most of your documents are text files.
Usually, your reports from legacy applications, DBs, ERP applications,
datawarehouse are textual txt2pdf is a PERL5 script, so you can use it in every
operating systems supported by PERL5 (View the list of OS tested) txt2pdf
is a native converter, you don't need to pass through PostScript format.
txt2pdf is specific for text to PDF conversion, so
you can mark yellow, red, green, blue or bold, italic, bolditalic
(with PERL regular expression) words in the produced PDF files
you can produce a 2-columns PDFyou can add page number in every page
you can add text at the beginning and at the end ofevery file.
You can add a border to every page

Ein Jahr Amiga User Liste
Nun sind schon zwölf Monate vergangen, genau am 4. April 1999 ging die
erste Ausgabe der AUL online. Nun gibt es ein Update und viele Wünsche
von euch sind in Erfüllung gegangen.
Demnächst gibt es eine Version für MUIBase (auch geeignet für die
unregistrierte Version) und endlich gibt es Rubriken, wie Programmierer
oder Grafiker. Es gibt jetzt Buttons für die AUL, die jeder auf seine
Homepage verwenden darf. (ps)

XAD-System Version 6
Die Version 6 des Archiv-Extrahiersystems "xadmaster.library" ist veröffentlicht.
Wichtige Neuigkeiten sind Unterstützung für Arj, Arj-EXE, RAR-Exe, Zip-Exe und
BZip2. Momentan werden insgesamt 38 Archiv-Arten bearbeitet. Wer XAD nicht kennt,
sollte es sich mal anschauen.
Seit kurzem gibt es auch eine sehr schöne Freeware-Oberfläche von Andrew Bell
names Voodoo-X. Für alle, die meine Shell-Tools nicht mögen, eine echte
Alternative.
Ein kleiner Aufruf: Wenn Ihr freie Software nutzt, dann schreibt es dem
Autor doch einfach mal per EMail. Er freut sich bestimmt darüber. Auch
Registrierungen sind mit einem netten Brief viel schöner.

MorphOS News
Ungeachtet verschiedener Ankündigungen, unter dem Namen Amiga Linux PCs
verkaufen zu wollen, geht die Arbeit an MorphOS weiter. Wie zuvor bereits
verkündet, haben diverse Entwickler Testversionen erhalten und wir
überprüfen nun die Kompatibilität mit existierender Amiga Hardware /
Erweiterungskarten. Wir werden in Kürze eine Kompatibilitätsliste und neue
Informationen auf www.morphos.de veröffentlichen.
Außerdem ist Barfly 2.2 erschienen.

1) AmigaActive magazine. Group from UK with outstanding publication. Comes with cover CD each month. This month features the full version of Scala 1.2. Very well done publication for the Amiga. Representing the company were Mark Hinton.
2) Amiga concept design for a tower config. This model shown at the banquet.
3) Another concept design for a desktop model. Just throwing out some ideas..
4) Some of the BoXeR cases being displayed at the show. BoXeR received some very good "promises" of support from AI at the show. Let's hope to see it out...........soon!
5) CompuQuick booth at the show. The largest booth with hundreds and hundreds of CDs as well as just about anything you are looking for in Amiga hardware. Give them a call.
6) Bill McEwen makes the opening speech at the Developer's Conference.
7) Fleecy Moss takes the microphone for the full commitment to a crowded developer's room.
8) Individual Computers from Aachen, Germany that produces the Buddha products represented by Jens Schönfeld and Sarah Wittermann with the SoftwareHut folks. Some outstanding hardware products made available for the Amiga. Take a look at their ethernet boards with IDE controller(s) onboard. Amazing!
9) Jürgen Haage and Markus Pöllmann preparing for demonstrations of wares from Haage & Partner. StormC, AmigaWriter, and ArtEffect v4.0.
10) Hyperion gaming wares.
11) Kermit Woodall of NovaDesigns gives an outstanding demonstration of the ImageFX v4 capabilities.
12) Holger Kruse of Nordic Global giving lessons and demonstrations of
Miami Deluxe. The first non-beta version will be available this week.
13) Holger Kruse and Jeff Kreis of Rebol demonstrating some scripts.
14) Mr. Hardware - another great booth exhibiting at the show. Most of the
software for Amiga was available.
15) Nova Designs owner Kermit Woodall and Corianna Cohn representing the company. Demos for both ImageFX and Aladdin were run during the show.
16) Petro Tyschtschenko awards a crystal plaque to A2K show organizer Bob Scharp at the opening ceremonies.
17) Opening day setup for the show. Crowds made it a traffic jam.
18) Petro Tyschtschenko and Jürgen Haage in discussions prior to opening ceremonies.
19) Paul Nolan of PhotoGenics with his lovely wife Ela demonstrating v4.5 of the program. PhotoGenics was very well received and Paul sold out for the show.
20) Markus Pöllmann of Haage & Partner giving a demonstration of StormC compiler during the show.
21) Bob Scharp and Bill McEwen make opening day presentation during the show.
22) Deron Kazmeier of Soft Logik showing off the latest version of the program for the big three OSs. Version 4.5 available shortly. Deron received the AAA award for outstanding Amiga software at the show.
One more thing I just remembered. I was talking to Paul Brestyanszky of AntiGravity at his booth in A2K show. They have purchased the Boxer board and technology effective now. He also received a very good promise of support from Bill McEwen during the show. He mentioned that he had made some good connections during the show to locate hardware for completion of the board which will enable them to (hopefully) get it completed quickly (this year?). (ps)
