Amiga to create games and other content for Microsoft Windows for Smartphone 2002 Software
Snoqualmie, WA, Nov 6, 2002 - Amiga, a leader in games and entertainment
software, today announced the release of games targeting Windows Powered
Smartphones. Using the Amiga Anywhere Content Engine and their new "App
Pak" technology, applications written for Windows Powered Pocket
PC handheld computers will now be available for Smartphones as well. In
addition, Amiga intends to build specific games and productivity applications
that take advantage of the unique characteristics of devices running Microsoft
Windows for Smartphone.
"Amiga has partnered with Microsoft to create the best experience
for games and entertainment on Smartphone devices", said Bill McEwen,
CEO of Amiga. "We have been an early adopter of Microsoft Windows
for Smartphone because of our belief that it can revolutionize the mobile
experience. With our new App Pak technology, users can access applications
on their PDA or Smartphone without having to install them from their personal
computer."
App Pak applications are distributed on memory cards. Users will be able
to purchase the cards from their retail store and immediately use them.
In less than 60 seconds, users can enjoy games and other applications
with just by inserting their card. Just insert the card in the appropriate
slot, click, and play. App Pak applications use little storage space on
local systems making them more functional for PDA and Smartphone devices
with limited resources.
"The Windows Powered Smartphone enables users to do what they want,
when they want, from business productivity to entertainment," said
Mary Rose Becker, group marketing manager for Mobile Devices at Microsoft
Corp. "We're thrilled that Amiga is releasing it's games for the

Aminet CD #51 - Oktober 2002
Heute ist die neue Aminet CD #51 hier eingetroffen. Gefüllt mit über 500 MB
(ungepackt) an Neuheiten in hunderten von Archiven. Als Highlight ist das
bekannte Spiel Foundation - The Directors Cut enthalten.
Das Aminet ist die größte Amiga PD-Sammlung der Welt. Bis zu 40.000

Elbox: Neue Treiber für Spider USB 2.0 High-Speed Karte
The SpiderUP 1.9 update for the
Spider USB 2.0 High-Speed card
has been made available today. Changes in usb.device ver.1.9:
- the bulk out procedure corrected,
- speed improvements.
The usb.device 1.9 requires the Poseidon stack ver.1.31 as a minimum.

Heute ist die Ausgabe 104
des Online-Magazins NoCover erschienen. Die NoCover kann auf der
APC&TCP Homepage online gelesen oder
heruntergeladen werden. Außerdem wurde die Ausgabe heute ins Aminet

Veranstaltung: Betatester-II-Konferenz in Aachen
Nach einem Statement von Bill Buck und Raquel Velasco von
Thendic France auf MorphOS-News.de
wird die ursprünglich für den 14./15. Dezember 2002 in Frankfurt
geplante Betatester-II-Konferenz stattdessen nun mit der am 7./8.
Dezember 2002 stattfindenden Amiga und Retrocomputing 2002 Messe in
Aachen zusammengelegt. Unter anderem werde man mit 50 Pegasos-Rechnern
für die Besucher zum Ausprobieren teilnehmen. Mehr unter dem Titellink. (ps)

Österreich: point.design eröffnet neues Geschäftslokal
Eine positive Nachricht an alle österreichischen Amiga-Fans: point.design
eröffnet ein neues Geschäftslokal ab 8. November 2002 in Graz. Die neue
Adresse lautet: Idlhofgasse 22/53 in 8020 Graz. Alle Telefonnummern und
E-Mail-Adressen bleiben bis auf weiteres gleich. Die Öffnungszeiten

Audio: AHI 6 PPC in Arbeit
Martin Blom hat auf der Website zum Soundkartentreibersystem AHI darauf
hingewiesen, dass bald mit einer neuen stabilen Version 6 von AHI für den
