MIDI: Software-Instrument Phonolith 0.3, Sequencer Horny 1.2
Timo Kloss von Inutilis Software stellt eine neue Version seines MIDI-Sequencers Horny zur Verfügung, außerdem steht eine erste Version es Software-Samplers Phonolith zur Verfügung:
Phonolith 0.3
Phonolith ist ein Software-Instrument für AmigaOS 4.x, das "sampled Waveforms" abspielt. Phonolith kann mit jedem CAMD-basierten Sequencer wie beispielsweise Horny oder einem externen MIDI-Keyboard benutzt werden.
Eigenschaften von Version 0.3:
- receives MIDI notes through camd.library
- mixer unit with volume controls
- 16 different instruments at once
- ADSR amp envelope for each instrument
- unlimited number of samples for each instrument, for key and velocity ranges
- supports AIFF (16 bit) sample format
- imports Logic EXS24 instruments (only from Macintosh (PPC?))
- ReAction GUI
Für Version 1.0 sind zusätzlich folgende Funktionen geplant:
- downmixing to AIFF file (not for lite version)
- mixer unit with panning controls and peak meters
- WAVE sample support
- better EXS24 import (Intel format...)
- connection to Horny for automatic project loading
Horny 1.2
Horny ist ein MIDI-Sequencer für AmigaOS 3.5, 3.9 und 4.x, der sich an "Logic" oder "Cubase" orientiert und vor allem einfach und unkompliziert zu bedienen sein soll.
Eigenschaften von Version 1.2:
MIDI:
- Up to 16 midi ports usable with CAMD (Lite: 1 port)
- Up to 128 tracks (Lite: 16 tracks)
- Signature and tempo changes inside songs possible
- Midi mixer: VU meter, volume, pan, 6 more (Lite: 3) chooseable controller
- Automation of all mixer parameters direct in tracks
- SysEx manager with as many sort groups as you like
- Controller transformer e.g. for controlling volume with modulation wheel
- eXtream Sync support for synchronizing with AudioEvolution 4 and other software
Editoren:
- Piano Editor: Quantizing (with triplet support), velocity compressor,...
- Controller Editor: Compressor, reducing, smoothing,...
- Multiple undo/redo in piano/controller editor
- Position marker in arranger window
- Complete overview of projects in arranger window
- Sound selection with names (not only GeneralMidi, but able to extend for any synthesizers)
- Midi controllers are named for any supported synthesizers as well
Datei-Formate:
- SMF import and export
- Horny file format is up- and downwards compatible
- Autoload project for your own templates
- SysEx files import and export in SysEx Manager
User-Interface:
- ReAction GUI at setting windows
- On Workbench or own screen
- Arranger window can be used as background (backdrop)
- locale.library support: Up to now german and english
- Some GUI elements are 24 bit graphics (PNG files)

Total Chaos, ein Fantasy-Brettspiel für bis zu acht menschliche oder vom Computer gesteuerte Spieler, bringt an Neuerungen in der Version 6.4 unter anderem eine Undo-Funktion mit sich.

USB-Stack Poseidon 3.5 / Treiber für Uhrenport-MP3-Player
Der USB-Stack Poseidon von Chris Hodges hat für AmigaOS ein Update auf Version 3.5 erfahren. Dieses ist zunächst nur über die Aktualisierungsfunktion von Trident zu beziehen, in wenigen Tagen soll es dann auch auf der Webseite des Autors verfügbar werden.
Des weiteren wurde unter dem Titellink ein Treiber für den Uhrenport-MP3-Player MP3@64 von Individual Computers als Freeware bereitgestellt.
Poseidon 3.5 behebt die von einigen Anwendern berichteten Probleme, dass Keyfiles nicht immer akzeptiert wurden. Zusätzlich werden Demo-Timeouts in PoPo und dem Fehler-Log nun deutlich gekennzeichnet, so dass sich eventuelle weiterbestehende Keyfile-Probleme erkennen lassen.
Während Elbox-Produkte künftig nicht mehr unterstützt werden, d.h. keine Ausgabe von Keyfiles für deren Spider-Karten mehr erfolgt, können dafür Anwender anderer USB-Lösungen für AmigaOS/68k (z.B. ArakAttack, Thylacine oder Amithlon) jetzt wieder Registrierungen vornehmen.
Wer hingegen bereits eine registrierte Version 3.x von Poseidon besitzt, ist hiervon nicht betroffen und kann den USB-Stack auch mit der Version 3.5 weiterhin benutzen.
Neuregistrierungen sind ausschließlich für die Version 3.5 möglich, für ältere Versionen können die neuen Keyfiles nicht verwendet werden.
Für das kommende Jahr kündigt der Autor mindestens ein weiteres Update für AmigaOS/68k an. (snx)

AmigaOS 4: Instant Messenger Epistula 52.1
Die neueste Version des MUI-basierten Instant Messengers Epistula beinhaltet folgende Änderungen:
- 32bit image support via my new MUI Custom Class (preliminary AISS support)
- Basic emoticon support, which is limited at present but will be customisable in an update
- New instant message display
- Updated TOC and MSN plugins (finally nailed the bug which won't show contacts as being online!)
- My own little executioner 'Pierrepoint' will take care of shutting down plugins cleanly and swiftly
- Lots of little bugs fixed here and there...

IBrowse 2.4 installiert irrtümlich 68k-MUI-Klassen unter PPC-Betriebssystemen
Bei der Installation von IBrowse 2.4 auf PPC-Betriebssystemen werden u.U. die NList#?-MUI-Bibliotheken mit 68k-Versionen überschrieben. Betroffene Anwender sollten die entsprechenden Klassen erneut installieren. (cg)

AmigaOS 4: Movie-Player MPlayer 1.0rc1
Andrea Palmatè stellt eine neue Version seiner OS4-Portierung von MPlayer zur Verfügung. MPlayer 1.0rc1 benötigt die finale Version von AmigaOS 4.0, Neuerungen im Vergleich zur letzten Veröffentlichung:
- Full overlay support thru p96_pip driver (needs AmigaOS4 Final)
- Removed cgx software modes
- The only software mode now is SDL
- Using libmad for mp? audio decoding
- Use th every last mplayer rc1 cvs
- DVD now can be played at full speed (on my G4 at least..)
- Full screen is not yet supported by p96_pip driver
- Two separate version (G3 and G4)
- XMAS icon by Kenneth Lester jr (thx!)
- p96_pip driver made by Joerg Strohmayer
- WMV3 now are native and at FULL SPEED
- a lot of mplayer bugfix!
