ACube Systems: Fan recommendation for the Sam440ep
In their New Year's greeting, ACube Systems recommend that owners of the Sam440ep PowerPC motherboard, whose components have now been in service for a good 19 years, retrofit a fan for the previously passively cooled M9 graphics chip.
A suitable product for this purpose is the LD3007MS heat sink fan designed for the Raspberry Pi. Power is supplied via the J17 connector on the Sam440ep. The red cable must be connected to pin 1 and the black cable to pin 4. The fan currently costs just over three euros at the usual sales platforms.
