Version 2.0 der Videokonverter-GUI für ffmpeg + VideoCD-Authoring
Carsten Siegner schreibt:
Heute ist die GUI "Videokonverter" in der 2.0 Version fertig geworden.
Dort habe ich jetzt alle Features von ffmpeg, die sich nicht gegenseitig
aufheben, mit eingebaut. Neu ist jetzt auch die Plugin-Schnittstelle für
andere GUIs. In der Version 2.0 ist ein Plugin mit Namen "VideoCD Authoring"
hinzugekommen. Mit diesem Plugin ist es jetzt erstmals nachgewiesenermaßen
möglich, auf DVD-Player lauffähige VideoCD zu erzeugen. Das heißt natürlich,
dass nur die Mode-2-Images erzeugt werden.
Gebrannt werden muss wie immer auf einer kompatiblen Brennersoftware.
Ich habe momentan ein Ergebnis des Plugins mit MakeCD gebrannt, und auf
einem Panasonic DVD-RV41 getestet, worauf es ohne Probleme und zu
meiner Verwunderung sofort lief, obwohl der Brenner mittendrin
einen Fehler meldete und abbrach. Die ersten paar Sekunden wurden
abgespielt. Ich muss jetzt nur noch diesen Fehler klären, und werde
es dann zum Download freigegen.
Damit kann man nun ohne das Programm zu verlassen, fast jedes Videoformat
zu einer VideoCD brennen, die darüber hinaus sogar auf DVD-Player
lauffähig ist, was ja heutzutage wichtig ist. Wer das Programm jetzt
schon haben will, der muss mir eine

Tool: Normalize Version 0.7.6
Am 07. Oktober 2002 hat Fr3dY Version 0.7.6 des Tools 'Normalize'
veröffentlicht. Mit diesem Programm können Sie die Lautstärke von
Sound-Dateien (WAV, MP3, AIFF, NeXT/Sun, IRCAM) verändern.
Musikstücke aus verschiedenen Quellen haben oft unterschiedliche
Lautstärke-Einstellungen, die Sie mit 'Normalize' auf ein Level
bringen können.
Normalize liegt in Amiga-Versionen für die Prozessortypen 68000,
68020, 68040 und 68060 vor.

Mit WHDLoad können Sie Spiele, die nur für den Diskettenbetrieb gedacht
waren, nun auf Ihrer Festplatte installieren. Folgende Pakete sind seit
unserer letzten Meldung neu hinzugekommen bzw. aktualisiert worden:

Finnish Amiga Users Group's Meeting Showed AmigaOne and Pegasos

Finnish Amiga Users Group's Meeting Showed AmigaOne and Pegasos
OULU, FINLAND - October 7th, 2002 - Finnish Amiga Users Group's annual
meeting was held in Oulu, Finland on September 28th, 2002. The meeting was
visited by some 60 people and this well exceeded last years visitor count.
This didn't come as a surprise, even though the location was a bit remote
for people living in the more populated south of Finland. After all, the
users group had a lot more to show this year.
Travelling all the way from Holland, Sharwin and Rakesh Raghoebardayal of
Coyote Flux/Thendic France, were there to demonstrate MorphOS on the
Pegasos. This was the first public demonstration of Pegasos in Finland.
Sharwin and Rakesh spent the entire afternoon showing off the speed and
capabilities of their machine. Impressive demonstrations included J Miner,
a photogrammetry software that created 3D images out of 2D photographs,
and various features of MorphOS and emulation software.
Also on hand to discuss their work on MorphOS were the Finnish developers
and long-time Amiga enthusiasts Teemu Suikki and Harry Sintonen. They
travelled quite a distance as well, paid by Thendic France. Tomi Ollila
of the original AmiTCP group was also present at the venue. Discussions
about computer technology, operating systems and life in general were
rampant throughout the day. Finnish Amiga Users Group offered free
refreshments to all visitors, and some of the people went on to continue
the discussions at a dinner later that night.
Gentle Eye Ky, the only active Amiga dealer in Finland, was also present
with some of their inventory and two interesting pieces of new technology.
The AmigaOneG3-SE and a prototype AmigaOne-XE motherboards were on display.
Unfortunately the AmigaOneG3-SE had no working BIOS and the AmigaOne-XE,
which was all ready to go and hooked up, didn't boot Linux all the way.
This may be due to a configuration error or the fact that it was only a
prototype. It was interesting to see AmigaOne there anyway.
Finnish Amiga Users Group also held their official annual meeting and the
club is moving ahead with the help of new people and new ideas - although
more input and involvement is always welcome. The event was covered on the
Internet via IRC, a Shoutcast audio connection, digital photography and a
webcam. Unfortunately technical problems delayed these services quite a bit.
More photographs and notes from the meeting will be made available via the
users group website (http://saku.amigafin.org) and the Saku e-zine.
Finnish Amiga Users Group is interested in showcasing all progress made in
the extended Amiga community. In addition to the above-mentioned people,
Amiga Inc. was also invited to participate. We were frequently asked about
this by our members and visitors, but unfortunately Amiga Inc. did not
respond to emails from group officials this time. We hope to display
AmigaDE and other products from Amiga in the future, like we did last year
with our demonstartions of the Party Pack and the AmigaDE Player.

come here in person, we are happy to demonstrate products for you at our

Offizielle Amiga + Retro Computing 2002 Website online
Heute ging die offizielle Website zur diesjährigen deutschen Amiga-Messe
online. Jens Schönfeld von Individual Computers
organisiert diese Messe, die am 7. und 8. Dezember
2002 im Eurogress Aachen stattfinden wird. Damit bricht Schönfeld
zwar die gute alte Tradition, die Messe in Köln stattfinden zu lassen,
aber Aachen ist eine sehenswerte Stadt, und die Nähe zu
den Benelux-Ländern ist sicher ein großer Vorteil. Abgesehen
davon schickt sich der Veranstalter an, mit einer weiteren Tradition
zu brechen, da er nach Möglichkeit den Trend der letzten Jahre umkehren
möchte, und wieder mehr Besucher anlocken will.
Bei der aktuellen Version der Website handelt es sich um eine Vorabversion,
die sich nach und nach mit Leben füllen wird.

Die auf dem Amiga arbeitende Musikgruppe Moods veröffentlichte kürzlich
ihr zweihundertstes Musikstück im Internet. Es handelt sich dabei um den
Goatrack "Schmerz_Verschmelzumg" des deutschen Musikers mit dem Pseudonym
Psycho. Alle 200 Stücke im .med, .mod und mp3 Format können kostenlos von

Mediator: PatchInt V1.2 (3rd release)
Bereits am 3. Oktober 2002 hat Matthew Allatt die Version 1.2
(3rd release) von 'PatchInt' für das PCI-Board 'Mediator' von
Elbox veröffentlicht.
Das Tool beseitigt die Lockups, welche bei verschiedenen Sound-, Ethernet-, Serial- und
anderen PCI-Karten auftreten.
Diese Update sollte die Ton-Verzerrungen beheben, die nach einiger
Zeit des Abspielens bei der SoundBlaster aufgetreten sind.
Matthew Allatt schreibt hierzu:
"I'd just like to let you all know that I've finished a new version of
PatchInt..." - "I found that when using PatchInt, and playing tunes
through the SoundBlaster card, the sound would become distored after a
while. Others have reported this to me as well, so, having found some
time, I've written a new version which should hopefully fix this."

Amiga Society: Schlachtfeld-Seite aktualisiert und Status
Von der Amiga Society-Site:
"Die Schlachtfeldseite hat ein neues Design bekommen. Die Inhalte
sind noch nicht ganz so weit, aber es gibt schon erste Grafiken für einen
zweiten Level zu sehen.
In den nächsten Wochen wird die Seite um einige Untermenüs etc. erweitert und
ein paar mehr Infos zur Verfügung gestellt.
Evtl. wird die Seite bald auch eine eigene Domain bekommen.
Ob es bis zur Messe im Dezember zumindest eine Beta der Phase I (mit der
alten Grafik) geben wird bleibt noch zu hoffen.
Nach aktueller Einschätzung der Lage wird die Phase I wohl auch nicht
über das Betastadium hinaus kommen.
Die Grafik der Phase II ist bereits derart fortgeschritten, daß eine
Parallelentwicklung von Code und Grafik sinnvoll wird."

Emulator: Petunia - Website-Update zum 68k-JIT-Emulator
Bereits am 3. Oktober 2002 wurde die Website zum
68k-JIT-Emulator 'Petunia' für AmigaOS 4.0 aktualisiert.
Hinzugekommen sind weitere Informationen und ein
Benchmark-Test, um den eigenen Rechner mit den

MIDI: Amiga-Version von 'Aseq' eingefroren
aseq schreibt, dass ein Teil seiner Amiga-Hardware ausgefallen ist und
er deshalb die Entwicklung der Amiga-Version des MIDI- und Audio-Sequenzers 'Aseq'
eingefroren hat. Andererseits hat er nun mehr Zeit die Software nach QNX,
Macintosh und Linux zu portieren.
Eine Pegasos-MorphOS-Version war in Planung. Da aseq derzeit aber auch
schon seine Amiga-Hardware nicht aktualisieren kann, kann das noch
eine Weile dauern.
Seine Meldung im Original:
"Part of my Amiga hardware died(bvision, perhaps more) so I have to freeze
development of the Amiga version of a midi and audio sequencer called
Aseq (www.aseq.de).
On a brighter side ;-) I can now spend more time on porting it to QNX,
Macintosh and Linux. A version for Pegasos-Morhpos has been planned, but
seeing as I can not yet even afford to replace Amiga hardware it will be a
while.
In case you care about dead Amiga hardware, I am using an A1200 with ppc
card and bvision, the system is not showing up any image through the gfx card
and I have no way of detecting if the ppc card is working, but I assume it
is as the system will boot normally from floppy. Not from hd though, a gfx
card related thing in the startup may very well screw up, or blizkick, which
could mean the ppc card IS dead(also) after all." (sd)
