Floppy-Emulator: UFE
Wie bereits sein Vorgänger TFE ermöglicht es UFE, SD- bzw. MMC-Karten anstelle von Disketten an älteren Computern, darunter auch dem Amiga, zu nutzen. Durch Verwendung des Originalanschlusses verhält sich das Speichermedium für den Rechner wie ein echtes Laufwerk.
Features:
- Read/Write access for Commodore AMIGA, Atari ST and Amstrad CPC computers
- On-board support for ADF, DSK, ST and MSA images: no conversion on PC necessary
- Standard IDC 34-pin floppy connector
- Can emulate two floppy drives

OpenSSL 1.0.0a Rev#2
Das OpenSSL-Projekt ist eine auf quelloffener Software basierende Toolkit-Implementierung der Protokolle Secure Sockets Layer (SSL v2/v3) und Transport Layer Security (TLS v1).
Die AmigaOS-Portierung ist komplett nativ, die ixemul.library wird nicht benötigt. Entwicklerunterlagen sind Bestandteil der Distribution. Die jetzt veröffentlichte Version "Rev#2" bringt im Vergleich zur zwei Wochen alten ursprünglichen Veröffentlichung von OpenSSL 1.0.0a diverse kleinere Verbesserungen mit:
- Compiled using GCC 3.4.0 for better speed (please report any issue, i didn't trust so much this compiler)
- Optimized bzero/bcopy/memmove/memcpy functions to achieve a somewhat faster speed. (libnix)
- Implemented alarm() to perform the tests, we'll no longer have to wait those long times
- Time spent on speed tests are now calculated using ReadEClock()
- OPENSSL_assert() will now open a ReAction/Intuition requester (usefull for WB-only progs)
- Enabled MD2 and RC5 which was disabled by default..
- Added 68040 build (user and dev)
- Added new set of root certificates
- Included Installation script

Web-Browser: Netsurf 2.0
Artur Jarosik stellt ein weiteres Update der AmigaOS-Portierung von NetSurf zur Verfügung. Neuerungen in Version 2.0:
- Updated to latest SVN r10592
- Updated OpenSSL to 1.0.0a and fixed cURL to 7.21.0 which makes https:// secure sites work. Install of OpenSSL 1.0.0a needed.
- Updated getvideo to 0.26 (by Juergen Lucas)
- Added option gv_action to simplify use of getvideo plugin, optons are: 0=ask, 1=play, 2=saveplay, 3=save. Default is 0
- Created Bug Tracker
- Added version information

AmigaOS 4: Lodepaint Rev. 92
Lodepaint ist 32-Bit-Malprogramm aus der Windows- und Linux-Welt, dessen Bildschirmausgabe über OpenGL realisiert ist (Screenshot). Das Programm war ursprünglich für die Entwicklung von Texturen und "Sprites" gedacht, weswegen der Fokus im Gegensatz zu modernen Bildbearbeitungsprogrammen auf der pixelbasierten Arbeit liegt. (cg)

AmigaOS 4: ffmpeg 0.6
Die aktuelle Version 0.6 des Programms ffmpeg, welches Dateien von einem Video-, Audio- oder Bildformat in ein anderes konvertiert, liegt nun in Form einer allgemeinen wie einer Altivec-optimierten Fassung (als gpatch-Datei) auch nativ für AmigaOS 4 vor.
Seit der letzten Version für AmigaOS 4 kamen die folgenden Formate hinzu: Deluxe-Paint-Animationen, CD-Graphics, Apple Core Audio, Chinesisches AVS-Video, Adobe Filmstrip, Dolby TrueHD, Sony Wave64, Psygnosis YOP, VP8-Video, WMA 9 Professional, Blu-Ray-Audio, DivX-Untertitel, das WebM-Dateiformat, RTMP-Stream-Unterstützung sowie einige mehr.
Während ffmpeg selbst nach Einschätzung des Autors, Michael Trebilcock, auch unter AmigaOS 4.0 laufen könnte, setzt das Wiedergabeprogramm ffplay neben einem schnellen Prozessor SDL-bedingt wahrscheinlich auch AmigaOS 4.1 Update 1 voraus.
Das Umwandeln in das x264-Format ist gegenwärtig fehlerhaft und liefert eine schlechte Qualität, könnte jedoch auf Altivec-Rechnern funktionieren - dies wäre gleichfalls noch zu testen.
Aufgrund inkompatibler Standardeinstellungen von ffmpeg 0.6 und der libx264-Revision 100 liegen Voreinstellungsdateien (.ffpreset) zur Verwendung bei. Da libx264 in der vorangegangenen AmigaOS-4-Portierung nicht enthalten war, werden dadurch auch keine alten Einstellungen überschrieben.

Software-News: EvenMore 0.68, Amiga Media Center Preview-Video
Textanzeiger: EvenMore 0.68 (5.7.10)
Chris Pervers EvenMore ist ein in AmigaE geschriebener Textanzeiger. Änderungen seit unserer letzten Meldung:
- Amended EvenMore executable to allow you to pass an extra filename on to the plugins. If you click on a link beginning with a #, EvenMore will pass this link on to the plugins along with the path to the currently opened file. This will allow EvenMore plugins to browse inside archives while still keeping a note of the actual file being accessed.
- Amended Arc2Text.plugin to browse LHA files, although there are still some bugs, the code needs to be optomised and files cannot yet be extracted.
- Fixed bug in filetypes plugin. Was incorrectly using pattern string as the buffer as well for the pattern parsing function.
- Created a basic LHA viewing plugin and preferences. You will need to delete the #?.lha filetype from the filtypes.txt file in order for this plugin to work.
- Hyperlinks to files no longer needs full path to be specified.
EvenMore will append the path of the currently viewed file to any linked files. Also amended Dir2Text plugin so that it does not use full paths any more. This should speed things up.
- Mariusz Danilewicz of the ATO team has kindly updated the Polish catalog.
- Removed patternStringF module and replaced with my own RawDoFmt() code.
Status Update für Amiga Media Center
Pascal Papara hat bei Youtube ein Video veröffentlicht, das die Fortschritte bei dem in seinem Auftrag entwickelten AMC ("Amiga Media Center") illustrieren soll:
- offizieller TMDb-Support
- Web-TV inkl. Recording
- PlugIns-Support (Erweiterbarkeit)
- Help-Windows (Erläuterung einzelner Funktionen per Druck auf H-Taste)
- Sehr einfache, für Fernbedienungen optimierte Steuerung
- Videos, Photos/Bilder, Audio, Radio- und Videostreams könne abgespielt werden
- Lautstärke kann immer und überall im Programm angepasst werden
- Webstrems können aufgenommen werden, während man etwas anderes ansieht/anhört (Timeshift wenn man so will)
Die AROS-Version von AMC wird auch auf dem Amiga-Event 2010 in Essen (24. Juli) demonstriert, zusammen mit dem AresOne sowie der AROS-Distribution Broadway. (cg)
