Full version: Arcade game Hydrozone 1.02
Today version 1.02 of David Cruickshank's "Hydrozone" was published (Youtube-Video). In 1994 the game was published as Shareware and is now available for free.

Changes in version 1.02:
  • Changed licence from Shareware to Freeware
  • Updated documents
  • Added a continue from level 4 option if a player dies beyond that point
  • Made changes to health. If a player crashes into a few walls one after the other, only the first hit takes the full energy from the player's health bar. Hits after that only take a little
  • Changed some of the in-game text
  • Hopefully fixed the speedup and slow down problem on accelerated Amiga's ie 030, 040's etc. Some parts of the game were running twice as fast as it should have. (un-tested sorry as I don't own one of these)
  • Recompiled code with AmiBlitz3. (Originally programmed with BlitzBasicII1.7)

MorphOS: Web-Browser OWB 1.11
Fabien 'Fab' Coeurjoly has published a new update of the browser OWB for MorphOS. Since version 1.9 it is based on the changes of the WebKit-engine.

As usual there are two different versions of the browser: The Nosvg-version does not support the SVG-format but therefore requires less memory. The detailed changes are listed in the Readme-file.

AROS: Progress of 68k-Port
From now on the maintainer of WinUAE, Toni Wilen, will support Jason McMullan porting the open-source operating system AROS to Motorola's 680x0-architecture.

The latest progress is based on the "Franken-ROM" which includes the AROS-Exec and other original components of Kickstart 3.0 with which for the first time a disk-block could be read and a boot screen animation displayed (title link).

According to Toni Wilen the following components were finished:
  • disk.resource (trackdisk.device)
  • cia.resource (CIA interrupts)
  • potgo.resource (mouse 2nd/3rd button)
  • trackdisk.device (currently read-only, based on PC driver, large big rewrite required, no disk.resource use, was very PC controller specific)
  • amiga mouse hidd
  • amiga keyboard hidd
In the forum of AROS-Exec you can find further details to the development and the way hot it will go on. (snx) (Translation: dr)
