Visual effects Pioneer: Ron Thornton died "After a short battle with liver disease" Ron Thornton died on 21. November 2016. He was 59. Together with Paul Beigle-Bryant, he was one of the pioneers using computers for creating visual effects for space films. His animations created on an Amiga with the videotoaster and Newteks LightWave 3D have had a formative influence on the TV serie "Babylon 5". Game Construction Kit: RedPill 0.4.4 (alpha) RedPill is a Game Construction Kit written in AmiBlitz2, which is supposed to help developing games of diverse genres - released videos show ports of Pacman and Pang. RedPill is compatible to AGA and ECS, the "player" for running the finished games requires 1 MB Chip as well as some Fast-RAM. On Internet so far there only is a closed Facebook group, but you can contact the authors via eMail. The latest alpha version can be downloaded via Google Drive. Now the RedPill editor tries not to use a FPU. More changes of version 0.4.4:

Web browser: NetSurf 3.6 for AmigaOS 3/4 Chris Young has updated his ports of the web browser Netsurf. In version 3.6 some bugs have been fixed and the GUI-code cleared up.
