AmigaOS 4: CD/DVD burning software FryingPan 1.3.2
In 2011, the source code of the MUI-based CD/DVD burning programm Frying Pan was released under the LGPL. After versions for MorphOS and AmigaOS 3, now Frying Pan also is available for AmigaOS 4 as native version without any Shareware limitations. (cg) (Translation: dr)

Commercial version of "Catacomb 3D" for CD32 in progress
Recently the engine of the 25 years old 3D-Shooter Catacomb 3D was ported to AmigaOS. Pascal Papara has acquired a licence for selling the full version of the game and is going to distribute a CD32-version of the game commercially. For this pupose it is supposed to be adapted to the CD32, among others it will be controlled with a joypad and the CD32-specific chip Akiko is supposed to be used for chanky-to-planar conversions.

A Youtube video demonstrates the current stage of the development (on an emulator). Currently the features of saving the game status and using the original "Adlib"-sound are being added. (cg) (Translation: dr)

Entwickler-X: Blog established, M.A.C.E. Remastered announced
The team von Entwickler-X (e.g. Emotion, Tap Jewels, Bubble Shooter DX) has established a "Development Blog", which in future will inform about their projects. In the first two entries a reworked version of the shooter M.A.C.E. is announced which will be also released for AmigaOS 4.

In a discussion on os4welt.de, Thomas 'imagodespira' Claus, member of Entwickler-X, explained that the gameplay will be changed and there will be also more animations, backgrounds and other graphics. This new, remastered edition therefore will require a more powerful hardware. (cg) (Translation: dr)

Documentary: "Viva Amiga"-DVDs is nearing release
The supporters of the Kickstarter campaign for releasing the documentary film Viva Amiga have got an email in which they are asked to confirm their addresses for delivering the DVD. It is not clear when the film can be purchased in common stores and shops. (cg) (Translation: dr)

FPGA: Apollo-Core-Update "Gold"
The Apollo core is a FPGA-reimplementation of Motorolas m68k-series, which also provides a separate graphic output called SAGA. Currently the core is used in the accelerator board Vampire 600 V2. Changes in the latest core which is called "gold":
  • Added fusing for MOVE/EXT
  • added MPU for finding illegal memory access
  • added TRACE support
  • fixed in CHK2, CMP2, MOVEM and CAS
  • fixed some special LOOP condition
  • fixed TRAPcc
  • optimized MOVEQ/MOVE.l # and depending instructions

Bugfix: Projekt Lila "Remastered" for CD32 users
The Jump'n Run Projekt Lila that has been released a few weeks ago is supposed to be CD32 compatible - but on some consoles the boot process doesn't work. A new 'Remastered' edition fixes this problem and also features some changes to the world selection screen. The Remastered edition will be shipped for free to all existing Projekt Lila customers. The digital edition available from the IndieGo store is identical with the Remastered edition. (cg)
