Amiga 1200: "Magic Pack"-packing for printing Two Amiga fans have photographed the packing of the "A1200 Magic Pack" sold by Amiga Technologies and restored it with a picture editing program: The picture is available in BMP-format and has a solution of about 5000x4000 pixels. It is meant for owners of an A1200 whose original packing is damaged or lost. Only modification compared with the original: In the white rectangles to the left and right of packing, usually barcodes can be found - "Prowler" and "DH" did perpetuate their names with a QR-code and a short text. This signature must not be changed if the graphic is used. Download: MagicPack_Large.zip (24,1 MB) (cg) (Translation: dr) [News message: 29. 20th anniversary of Commodore bankruptcy On 29th April, 1994 Commodore, which was a few years ago second biggest computer company behind IBM, had to declare bankruptcy. With a brief press release the parent company Commodore International Limited, meanwhile based on the Bahamas, did announce the end of a big homecomputer pioneer. Hardware developer Dave Haynie documented the last days in the Commodore headquarter in West Chester (USA) in his video "The Deathbed Vigil and other Tales of Digital Angst" (twelve minute trailer), which is sold by Amazon or which is available as part of Amiga Forever. There is a two-part (1, 2) gallery tour through the German branch, which was filmed some years ago and can be found on Youtube as well. In the German section of amiga-news.de, during the next days a collection of texts of the former Commodore and Amiga Technologies employee report of Rainer Benda will be published again. There is a similar but English-language report of the US-American Vernon Graner. 20 years ago, the following press release announced the end of Commodore: COMMODORE INTERNATIONAL LIMITED TO LIQUIDATE NEW YORK, April 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Commodore International Limited (NYSE: CBU) announced today that its Board Of Directors has authorized the transfer of its assets to trustees for the benefit of its creditors and has placed its major subsidiary, Commodore Electronics Limited, into voluntary liquidation.
