Indivision ECS: Picasso96 driver (alpha version) (update)
'Symplex' has published an alpha version of a Picasso96 driver for the Flickerfixer Indivision ECS. If you are going to test this version it is strongly recommended to backup your system first.

A 68030 with MMU, Kickstart 3.x and 4 MB Fast-RAM are required. With the driver a solution of 800x600 pixels with up to 256 colours is possible (video). Please note the hints in the included Readme-file.

Emulator: Preview to WinUAE 2.4.1
As usual the developers of the well-known Amiga emulator WinUAE has provided a short preview to the next version. WinUAE 2.4.1 is supposed to be published during the next two weeks and mainly will fix minor bugs. Additionally there will be minor improvememnts like a CPU-brake for the JIT-mode. New features and updates:
  • Fastest possible CPU mode (including JIT) throttle option (-10% to -90%)
  • Approximate CPU mode speed adjustment (-90% to 500%+). Replaces old CPU/Chipset adjustment
  • Internal display buffering system rewritten, PAL/NTSC vertical centering, even better screen positiong in programmed modes
  • Fullscreen (TV)/(Max) filter mode programmed mode and PAL/NTSC switching support
  • Custom Input Event autofire support
  • Switch to another monitor if multiple monitors with different resolutions and current RTG resolution is not supported by current monitor
  • CDFS statefile support implemented
  • Sound sync improved in approximate and cycle-exact modes

Bug fixes of version 2.4.0:
  • CDFS directory listing crashed if ACTION_EXAMINE_ALL packet was used
  • CDFS converted file names to lowercase even when CD included RockRidge or Joliet file names
  • Fake 60Hz didn't work
  • Software filters had very big slowdown in higher resolutions
  • D3D overlay mask scaling artifacts in some resolutions
  • D3D "CRT" filters had bad geometry
  • Automatic resize resized continuously in interlaced modes
  • Some USB joysticks had multiple buttons with same name

Bug fixes of older versions:
  • Automatic scale/center/resize didn't work in ECS SuperPlus mode
  • 68020 cycle-exact mode statefile reliability improved. (Random "CPU trace" errors)
  • 0.5M Chip RAM was detected as 1M in JIT mode

MorphOS: CoolCow 1.0
Grzegorz 'krashan' Kraszewski's CoolCow is meant for users who want to take part in the distributed.net-competitions.

CoolCow periodically turns on and off the dnetc-client for decreasing the processor temperature. The intervals can be determined with a graphical user-interface. (snx) (Translation: dr)
