AmigaOS 4: Warning against dubious eBay offers Currently, a supposedly retail version of AmigaOS 4 for classic Amigas is being offered under the designation AMIGA OS4 for Amiga with Blizzard or Cyberstorm PPC on eBay. In the offer, provided with copious text and pictures, the remark that basically, the auction only constitutes a preorder, can be overlooked very easily. Behind the supplier "ALIEN^TEK" stands a certain Robert O'Neil, who also appears under the aliases "Paradox" and "Amber, Inc," among others. In the past, O'Neil had already been repeatedly charged with fraud, for example, he had temporarily appeared as an AmigaOne dealer without possessing corresponding hardware. As far as we know, Hyperion is informed of the situation. As a precaution, prospective buyers should refrain from a purchase at this supplier until a clarification of the issue. Amition.de: Eleven videos added In addition to extensions to some subpages, eleven more videos were added to the Download and Amiga History areas on Amition.de. In this connection, the operator would like to ask all Amiga fans to be allowed to make available video, commercials, show videos or TV recordings that may exist, for all other users on his web page. The format is irrelevant for this purpose. Furthermore, since the day before yesterday, a faster server with more memory is at the disposal of Amition.de. Amition.info and Amition.mobi were added as further domains. (snx) (Translation: cad) [News message: 04. Nov. 2007, 07:17] [Comments: 0] [Send via e-mail] [Print version] [ASCII version] |
