Soms3D voting results new shots and help wanted
The online poll regarding the future of the Soms3D engine has been finished. The Silent Hill like engine was voted by 51 voters, role playing game got 41 votes and the GtA3 like engine got 31 votes.

So a game like Silent Hill got the most interest through the online and the mail vote. Because of that we have already put two new screen shots online.

Furtheron we are looking for capable raytracers respectively 3D object creators who are willing to work with us. Pixler are welcome, too. (ps) (Translation: wk)

Golem interview: why and when are computer games placed on the index?
»Interview with lawyer Thorsten Feldmann
Discussions about placing computer games on the index are quite often in the public but do often lack the legal base. To get knowledge when and by whom a computer or video game can be placed on the index and what this means to the distributors, buyers and to people publishing fan sites for such games we talked to the lawyer Thorsten Feldmann.«

AmiChess: bugfixes
There's an update for AmiChess on the home page (title link) that contains some bugfixes.

  • Small fixes in the source code.
  • The loading of PGN files (game files) and the creating of the openings book is now possible in the PPC mode, too! So there are now limitations of the WarpOS version compared to the 68k version anymore.
  • The archive on the Lycos server was unfortunately defective. I have now corrected this and have uploaded an unpackable archive (has been successfully tested). Sorry to all who wanted to download the archive.

My thanks go especially to Georg Steger of the AROS team who has helped me very much. By the way, he has already managed to do an AROS port of AmiChess! (ps) (Translation: wk)

RPG: eVe status update
In January 2003 announced Emerald Imaging, known through the adventure game 'Aqua', a new role playing game (RPG) called 'eVe'. The game will contain hand drawn scenarios and chosen music is said to improve the gaming fun. Here a current status update:

Well, it's been a month since eVe was announced so it's time for a quick status update. The programming is coming along great and already the main play screen and character/collision detection etc. are working. The graphics work is moving a bit slow right now but Darko Ponos has recently signed on to help with some great graphics. Quite a bit has been done on the game design too. Hopefully within another month some screenshots of a nearly fully working version can be shown and maybe some concept artwork etc. before then. The game will be targeted at OS4/MorphOS/Amithlon users. (ps) (Translation: wk)
