New Version of Emperor Released Emperor (download by clicking the title link) is an object-oriented programming language which combines extensive features with a high level of user-friendliness. Emperor opens up a higher quality of software development on Amiga computers without having to deal with complex system structures. The easy user interface provides a clear overview of the components of your own program. Emperor knows the most important system components like windows, requesters, menus and ASL requesters, but also gadgets of many different kinds. All common Reaction and GadTools gadgets are supported. With Emperor, you can develop programs based on AmigaOS 3.5+, as well as for AmigaOS 2.0. There's also the option to generate a program which contains both parts (OS 3.5+ / OS 2.0) and adapts to the system booted. Features of Emperor:
Version 3.6 of the program is available in the Aminet directory "dev/c" (download at the title link). [News message: 16. Feb. 2001, 17:51] [Comments: 0] [Send via e-mail] [Print version] [ASCII version] |

New HTMLread Version A new HTMLread version (V1.00) is available for download at the support site (titlelink). HTMLread is an extension for YAM. YAM is a marvellous mailer, but it's not able to display e-mails that have been written in HTML code as they are sent by Netscape, Eudora or Outlook. HTMLread discovers, converts and sends these e-mails to an HTML viewer. Some changes have been made in the new version: Installer, better support of status gifs, better <base> tag handling with web graphics, nowebbug fixed, picturename bug fixed, no picture bug fixed, better multi window support, only one HTML mail is stored in t:, multiple ARexxPort support (AWeb), the binary is now compiled with the stormamiga.library (smaller, faster, more secure). HTMLread has now internal support against e-mail espionage (please read on that topic »Espionage through HTML-E-Mails« in the documentation). [News message: 16. Software News On Peter's Amiga Homepage a new printer driver for the HP Deskjet 870c (version 40.12) is available for download. This new version now also supports 68040 processors and the HP Prefs. Download: HP_Deskjet870C.lha Payback by Apex Designs is ready on CD-Rom and thus suppliable. You can draw the game either from Apex Design's online shop directly or from the vendor of your choice. In this game the player takes the role of a young driver on the run and in this tries to become a big gangster's boss. The game is completely non-linear. To finish a level the player simply has to collect a certain number of points. It is up to the player how to reach this. There also is a FAQ available for the game. Demo: PaybackDemo.lha - 2,94 MB Jacek Rzeuski has made DirOpus Version 4.15h (Beta) available for download. 15.Feb.2001 KOSH |
KOSH News There were no news about the ´KOSH [Kommunity Orientated Software Hardware]´ organisation founded by Fleecy Moss, since September 2000. The group reorganized and nominated the following speakers:
If you would like to join the group you can register here and if so support other speakers. SVM Many thanks to all who've contributed to the discussions on the SVM Simple Virtual Machine. Even greater thanks to Timo Suoranta for getting the whole thing rolling and Marcus Petersson for providing valuable feedback. Information on the SVM proposal as it currently stands is available here - please read, enjoy and contribute your thoughts. For those who missed the beginning of this fascinating task, the original document is available here. This isn't exactly a light discussion and some understanding of assembly language coding would aid any participants - but don't be intimidated! [News message: 15. 15.Feb.2001 MorphOS |
MorphOS V0.4 with WarpOS Emu Version v0.4 of MorphOS, an emulation for PPC Amigas, has been released. This version supports the AmigaOS 3.5/3.9 ROM update modules, but external modules, too. Thus theoretically everyone may write and use his/her own ROM update modules. Now also the WarpOS emulation is supported, so for example you can play Warp3D supported HereticII under MorphOS, too. You will find an extended documentation of the improvements in the readme file. Additionally the ´PPC MUI 3.9 Public Release 1´ is available which is the second MUI archive for PPC for MorphOS. (MorphOS V0.4 suggested). Download: morphosuser-150201.lha - 1,7 MB MUI_Release1.lha - 725 kB [News message: 15. Feb. 2001, 12:06] [Comments: 0] [Send via e-mail] [Print version] [ASCII version] |

New Version (V.44.50 beta 1) of the HSMathLibs for MC68881/82 Again there is a new version for registered users of the HSMathLibs. Some bugs have been fixed and some smaller optimizations have been done. For sure the essential enhancement in this version is the complete compatibility with OS3.9 and support of (hopefully) all of the special cases for the mathe-libraries. [News message: 15. Markus Holler: New Site at mp3.com From now on there is a new site at mp3.com with music of Markus Holler. He works as a free musican on various projects. First of all he composes soundtracks for computer games (for instance for Tales of Tamar or Operation: Counterstrike), but he also set videos to music (e.g. the presentation of the company Visum Informationssysteme GmbH or he set the fair reports of Virtual Dimension) to music, and composing of music pieces is one of his work. Markus Holler has made up his mind to remaster his last MODs (with EQing, panorama, effect, compressing, etc...) to give them a studio-like quality. Under the title link you can certainly listen to some music in the next time! Check it out! [News message: 14. Feb. 2001, 16:25] [Comments: 0] [Send via e-mail] [Print version] [ASCII version] |

Also an Amiga-IRC-channel An AmigaChannel at irc.euirc.net with the topics BBS, Amiga and mutual user help is possible. Can be also used as Amiga market. Main emphasis of me is to build up PMBS for the help or at least clearing starting problems. The channel #humpis is already available for a while and has some regular users.
If you have questions or problems please send a mail to Jochen@Humpis.insider.org or humpis@t-online.de. Remark of the editor: We recommend all chatters to create a website about their channel and the main topic (which Amiga topic is discussed mainly) as well as the data for logging in and then to enter this homepage in the category "IRC/Chat" in our Amiga Link Directory. In this way interested persons can find their channels long-term. [News message: 14. Feb. 2001, 14:08] [Comments: 0] [Send via e-mail] [Print version] [ASCII version] |

Golem: The world of Voodoo-graphic Boards is Open to Amiga »From now on all Voodoo-graphic boards in Elbox Mediator PCI busboard are usable for Amiga The Amiga-hardware producer Elbox has completed the "Voodoo.card ver. 1.0 driver" for its Mediator PCI bus boards. This driver makes possible the use of all obtainable PCI-Voodoo-graphic boards - up to Voodoo5 5500 PCI - on Amiga-1200-computers which are extended with Mediator. There has been a driver for Voodoo3-PCI-graphic boards and corresponding Mediator-bundles since the last year but now also the other Voodoo-graphic boards can be used: Voodoo Banshee 8 MB, Voodoo3 2000/3000 16 MB, Voodoo4 4500 32 MB and Voodoo5 5500 64 MB. The driver which has been developed by Elbox itself are supposed to offer full hardware acceleration but which is restricted to 24-bit-graphic mode at Voodoo4-and Voodoo5-graphic boards.« See title link for full article.
