`22.Jun.2003` Andreas Falkenhahn (E-Mail)	Multimedia Autorensystem: Malibu Version 1.0 Ab sofort ist Malibu 1.0 - das Scala-Plugin für Hollywood - verfügbar. Wenn Malibu installiert ist, liest Hollywood auch Scala-Präsentationen und zeigt diese an. Dabei ist die Kompatibilität sehr hoch. Es können praktisch alle Scala-Präsentationen wiedergegeben werden und zwar in 24-bit und absolut RTG-konform. Sie können sogar Ihre Scala-Präsentationen kompilieren und als AmigaOS-Executables oder native MorphOS-Executables weitergeben. Ein einzigartiges Feature! Malibu gibt es in einer AmigaOS3- als auch in einer nativen MorphOS-PowerPC-Version. Malibu benötigt mindestens Hollywood 1.5 und kann im Bundle mit dem Hollywood 1.5 Update oder der Vollversion vergünstigt erworben werden. -Einführung- Malibu ist ein Plugin für Hollywood, welches einen Importfilter für Scala-Präsentationen beinhaltet. Sobald Malibu installiert ist, kann Hollywood dann wie von Zauberhand plötzlich auch Scala-Präsentationen anzeigen und selbstverständlich auch kompilieren. Damit ist es jetzt erstmals möglich, Scala-Präsentationen auf der Workbench oder einem eigenen Bildschirm anzuzeigen. Da die gesamte Emulation über den Multimedia Application Layer Hollywood läuft, wird selbstverständlich auch alles komplett in 24-bit umgerechnet und angezeigt. Dabei übertrifft Malibu in vielen Fällen noch die Bildqualität von Scala, da dieses oft mehrere Bilder mit völlig unterschiedlichen Farben im 8-Bit-Modus darstellen musste, was oft zu erheblichen Verlusten von Farbinformationen führte. Malibu emuliert fast den kompletten Scala-Befehlssatz und unterstützt alle Scala Versionen bis zu Scala InfoChannel 500, der letzten Scala-Version für den Amiga. Dabei kommt der schlanke elCapitan-Mikrokernel zum Einsatz, der dafür sorgt, dass auf allen Systemen optimale Performance erreicht wird. So wird z. B. die nächste Seite schon vorbereitet während die vorherige gerade angezeigt wird. Rechenintensive Überblendeffekte können ebenfalls schon vorberechnet werden und werden dann als Animation flüssig abgespielt. Scala ist ein Programm, durch das der Amiga zum echten Multimedia-Alleskönner wurde. Es gab lange Zeit auf anderen Plattformen keine Produkte, die mit Scala auch nur ansatzweise hätten konkurrieren können. Durch Scala wurde der Amiga vielschichtig eingesetzt: Im Film- und Fernsehen, für Präsentationen, in Hotels, auf Messen und in vielen anderen Bereichen. Wer Scala kennt, weiß welche Power das Programm besitzt. Diese Power hat es allerdings nur, weil Scala die meisten Sachen direkt über die Customchips abwickelt und so das letzte aus dem Amiga herauskitzelt. Dadurch läuft es natürlich nicht auf Grafikkarten und hat auch sonst so allerlei Probleme mit moderneren Amiga-Systemen. Viele Jahre lang war es Amiga-Benutzern ein großer Dorn im Auge, dass "ihr" Scala nicht mehr anständig lief. Sie alle können jetzt aufatmen, denn Scala steht mit dem Malibu-Plugin wieder auf: Auf der Workbench? Aber sicher. In 24-bit? Na selbstverständlich. Immer RTG-konform? Absolutes Ehrenwort. Lassen Sie sich das nicht entgehen! TTEngine auf MorphOS portiert TTEngine ist eine auf TrueType Font basierende Textrendering-Umgebung für AmigaOS. Der Autor Grzegorz Kraszewski hat das Programm auf MorphOS portiert. Es wurde auf einem Standard-Pegasos mit G3 600 MHz getestet. "TTEngine achieves over 12000 cps in JAM1 mode and over 20000 cps in JAM2 mode on 24-bit screen and Voodoo3 PCI board, which is over 150% faster compared to emulated 68k version. `21.Jun.2003` Cyborg (ANF)	Software: AntiSPAM 2 jetzt mit 70% Trefferquote (Update) AntiSPAM 2 ist fertig: Die neue Version des Spam-Killers arbeitet nach einem neuen Prinzip und hat so eine drastisch gesteigerte Trefferquote von gemessenen 70 Prozent. Features von AntiSPAM 2 (Auszug): Es analysiert Spams auf Häufigkeiten von Wörtern. Es kommt ohne Remote-Filter aus. Es ist wesentlich einfacher zu installieren. Es arbeitet paralell zu YAM und blockiert es nicht mehr. Es arbeitet auch offline oder mit anderen Clienten zusammen. Es hat eine Whitelist, um ungewolltes Löschen zu verhindern. Ein manuelles Finetuning ist möglich. An dieser Stelle ein herzliches Dankeschön vom Entwickler an alle, die sich an AntiSpam 1 beteiligt haben, da dadurch AntiSpam 2 erst möglich wurde. `18.Jun.2003` Jens Schönfeld (ANF)	Kickflash OS4: Endgültige Produktspezifikationen Aufgrund der großen Nachfrage wurde das am 2. Juni angekündigte Produkt Kickflash OS4 überarbeitet. Die Basisversion ist nun mit 1 MB Flash-Speicher ausgestattet, und kann über einen Erweiterungsport mit bis zu 1 GB Flash-Speicher ausgestattet werden. Die Übertragungsraten sind vergleichbar mit durchschnittlichen Festplatten, jedoch fallen die bei mechanischen Massenspeichern üblichen Zugriffszeiten bei Flash-Speicher praktisch weg: Im wahlfreien Zugriff ist so genannter solid-state-Speicher rund zehntausend Mal schneller als eine Festplatte. Kickflash OS4 ist eine Zorro-Karte, die in Zorro-2 und Zorro-3 Systemen funktioniert. Der neue Basispreis für die Karte ist 34,90 EUR. Preise für Erweiterungen stehen noch nicht fest.
