Eyetech: Erste Eindrücke vom Designer-Gehäuse für AmigaOne
Eyetech hat erste Eindrücke vom Design-Gehäuse des AmigaOne veröffentlicht. Das Design wurde von den französischen Industrie-Designern Naya exclusiv für Eyetech entwickelt.

Bei Naya sind einige noch aktive Amiganer beschäftigt. Diese waren scheinbar von sich aus an Ben Yoris (Hyperion) herangetreten, der dann den Kontakt mit Eyetech vermittelt hat. (ps)

Thomas Dellert (ANF) DCE: GREX 4000D wird seit heute ausgeliefert
Seit heute ist das GREX 4000D auf Lager und verfügbar. Die ersten Karten wurden heute an unseren Distributor Vesalia Computer ausgeliefert. Die Karten werden auch auf der Pianeta 2001 in Empoli bei Virtualworks angeboten. Zudem haben wir ein neues Treiber-Paket zur kostenlosen Nutzung zusammengestellt. (Download: grexdriver2_2.lzh).

Damit unser Board PCI-kompatibel zum Pegasos-Board wird, ist jetzt die CyberPCI-Library Version 2.2 erhältlich (Download: flash_20011012.lha). Dieses neue Flash ermöglicht es nun erstmals, Voodoo3- Benutzern den 15 KHz-Startscreen direkt über die Voodoo nach dem Einschalten des Systems auszugeben. Dazu werden neue Grafikkarten-Treiber und neue 68060/40-Libraries benötigt und zur Verfügung gestellt (Download: GREX68K_libraryV2_2.lha).

Neu ist ebenfalls der Grafikkarten-Treiber für die SIS 6326 VGA Karte. Es werden beide RAM-Varianten der Karte unterstützt. Zur Soundunterstützung bieten wir die Treiber für die bewährten Terratec Sound Karten PCI 128 sowie PCI 512 an. Es können auch kompatible Karten mit den Chipsätzen ESS SOLO ONE (PCI 128) sowie Fortem edia 801 (PCI 512) benutzt werden. Beide Treiber unterstützen den Betrieb unter AHI. Alle Treiber werden ab morgen zum Download verfügbar sein. (ps)

Golem Golem: IBM stellt 1 GHz PowerPC-Prozessor vor

Auf dem Mikroprozessor Forum in Kalifornien hat IBM seinen bisher schnellsten PowerPC-Prozessor vorgestellt, den PowerPC 750FX. Er soll Taktraten bis 1 GHz bieten und erstmals Kupferleitungen, Silicon-on-Insulator-(SoI-) und Low-K-Dialectric-Technologien in einem Chip vereinen.«

Amiga Inc. AmigaDE Shop: Neue Produkte (Update)
Im AmigaDE Shop sind zwei neue Produkte für AmigaDE zu finden, und zwar 'BoXiKoN' und 'Solitaire Pulsar'. Bei 'BoXiKoN' handelt es sich um einen Tetris-Clone und mit 'Solitaire Pulsar' können Sie ein Paket mit 10 verschiedenen Solitaire-Varianten kaufen.

Korrektur 18.10.2001:
Es sind nicht zwei, sondern fünf neue Spiele im AmigaDE hinzugekommen. Neben den bereits beschriebenen sind noch folgende Spiele im Angebot: 'Batty Titan', ein klassischer Arcanoid-Clone, 'Convex Zeoneo', ein Kugel-Puzzle und 'Gems', ebenfalls ein Puzzle-Spiel. (ps)

Jürgen Lange (ANF) Amithlon/AmigaXL: Kompatibilitätsliste und Erscheinungsdatum
Am 15. Oktober 2001 hat die Haage & Partner Computer GmbH auf ihrer Website eine Kompatibilitätsliste zu Amithlon und Amiga XL für QNX veröffentlicht.

Weiterhin wird mitgeteilt, dass mit der Auslieferung des Emulatoren-Paketes in dieser Woche begonnen wird.

Eine erste öffentliche Vorführung wird es am Wochenende auf der Pianeta 2001 in Italien geben. (sd)

Elbox Computer is pleased to inform that Amiga with the Mediator busboard is from now on the first hardware, in which displaying the actual and moving at full speed real TV broadcasting picture in the backdrop has become possible.

Mediator PCI is now the only PCI busboard for Amiga, whose users may use TV cards. Apart from this fact, Mediator PCI is also a pathfinder for new quality standards in the way PCI TV cards are used in computers.

Displaying the full-quality TV picture with absolutely 100% system performance maintained (irrespective whether you use a turbo card with PPC/68060 or with 68030) is now possible with the special method of storing code for the video capturing processor.

The fast SDRAM/SGRAM memory of graphic cards, to which the TV card sends the digitalised television picture is used in Mediator PCI also to store program for the TV-card video and audio capture processor. This means that none of the operations related to generating the picture requires any operation outside the PCI bus.

Therefore, performance of TV cards is significantly enhanced when compared against other computers with PCI TV cards, in which the video capture processors must take their code from the computer's main memory.

Inventing this method of co-operation between TV cards and graphic cards has become possible due to the effort of our in-house team of programmers, who have written drivers for both graphic and TV cards.

Software for TV cards for Mediator, which now supports as many as 50 of the most popular PCI TV cards, enables a series of different methods of displaying television image.

The basic method is to display the image in the window of the pre-set size from the range of 96x72 to 768x576. Any size of window may be freely scalable at any time. Scaling the TV picture is executed in real time with the PCI graphic card's hardware.

When the TV image is displayed as a backdrop, the user may freely define the colour, which will be automatically replaced by the graphic card with the moving television image.

The enclosed screenshots show television picture samples in Amiga with Mediator PCI.

Software for TV cards in Mediator enables a number of other additional functions, which the TV card may perform.

For example: managing the radio tuner integrated with the card or using the TV card as a scandoubler / flickerfixer for displaying the AGA-generated image in the PCI graphic card screen.

The software to enable operation of any supported TV card in the backdrop mode will be made available today to all the registered users of the Mediator Multimedia CD package as an update, free of any charge.
