`31.Dez.2002` MorphOS-News	Veranstaltung: Phoenix zusammen mit Genesi auf der CES 2003 Wie bereits berichtet, findet vom 9. bis zum 12. Januar 2003 in Las Vegas die International CES 2003 statt, an der auch die luxemburgische Firma Genesi teilnimmt, um den Pegasos PPC-Rechner und das Betriebssystem MorphOS einem breiten Publikum vorstellen zu können. Genesi wird auf dieser Ausstellung von dem Phoenix Developer Consortium unterstützt. Lesen Sie im Anschluss die Original-Meldung von dem Vorsitzenden des Consortiums Greenboy: I am pleased to announce that the Phoenix Developer Consortium is now participating with Genesi in the first step of partnership. Phoenix members will indeed attend CES to meet the Genesi team and of course will help staff the booth. Phoenix members have already formed distribution & reseller corporations, and with Genesi are in the process of building a web infrastructure that will unite the various Genesi corporate entities with the development and user communities. To soliloquize: it's thrilling to see people with our same Amiga origins take on the daunting task of attending one of the hugest trade shows in the world with the intention of presenting a professional quality appearance - and with an attitude that shows commitment to building prosperity for a new platform. I've seen some real drive and dedication and energy from all the Genesi people and affiliated developers, to build and market current and upcoming products while developing markets. In this battered and frayed community this effort to Get Things Done speaks volumes. Perhaps it is possible after all, to define a path that leads from Amiga compatibility to well-received infotech and embedded devices and services. And indeed, it feels great to be acknowledged and accepted! For those in Phoenix the path through the past few years has been circuitous. But at last we can join a desktop-and-beyond effort with good faith partners who attend shows, spend money on marketing and development, and seem to have some paths defined for the future. `29.Dez.2002` amiga.org	Alt-WoA 2003: Neuer Veranstaltungsplatz Die Organisatoren der 'Alt-WoA 2003' haben sich für einen neuen Veranstaltungsplatz entschieden. Statt in der 'Old Corn Mill' in Huddersfield, England wird die Alt-WoA nun im 'Kirkdale Conference Centre' stattfinden. Dieses ist eine Meile vom ursprünglichen Veranstaltungsplatz entfernt. Bilder, eine Lagekarte sowie Informationen zum Center sind auf der Alt-WoA-Website veröffentlicht. Grund für den Wechsel ist die Schließung der 'Old Corn Mill' seit Mitte November für ca. 22 Wochen. Und die Unsicherheit bei den Veranstaltern darüber, ob die neuen Besitzer danach eine geeignete Fläche für die Veranstaltung bieten werden. Ihr Kommen haben bereits Amiga Inc. und Hyperion zugesagt. Auf eine Bestätigung von Eyetech wird noch gewartet, um die Vorbereitungen dann zu starten. Ein genauer Termin ist bisher nicht auf der Seite angegeben. (sd) [Meldung: 29.
